How old are these pics? Muhammad Ali lives like 10 miles away from me. And when he travels its always in the news. I am surprised if these are new pictures as this was never mentioned in the local news?

We were trying to get Muhammad Ali to be the guest of honor at the Junoon " Passion of Peace" concert that we arranged last month. Perhaps this was the reason Muhammad declined.

Here is the email we got from Muhammad's office:

IN THE NAME OF ALLAH, THE BENEFICENT, THE MERCIFUL

October 25, 2002

Dear Ali,

As-Salamu Alaikum.

Muhammad Ali is in receipt of the letter and brochure you sent his office
regarding "The Pakistani Students Association at Western Michigan
University." He is honored by the accolades and the kind invitation to be an
honored guest at your "Peace Concert."

Unfortunately, given Muhammad's taxing schedule, he will have to decline. He
hopes you understand that his inability to attend is in no way a reflection
of how valuable and meaningful your request is ... or in his admiration for
this organization's plans to promote a positive image of Muslims. Insh'allah
the concert will be an enormous success.

Thank you for thinking of Muhammad.
