Mughal

Is it a caste only or it has something to do with mughals I mean are they descendants of mughals? If they are then where they came from I mean as far as I know all mughals were hanged by britishers at that time…
No offence to any mughal …just asking I want know …

Re: Mughal

Not all Mughals were hanged by British.. If I'm not wrong, even Bahadur Shah's sons /grandsons survived.

Re: Mughal

Mughals isn't a caste they were the conquerors that came from Iran and Central Asia and conquered India. The Mughal emperors however were decedents of Genghis Khan and Tehmur Khan from Mongolia. The mughal dynasty was all but finished when the British killed the last remaining of the mughals by exiling him in Burma. I don't the pure mughal blood line continued from there. So if someone claims to be a moghal then they're just claiming a false title and i doubt if they can trace their genealogy all the way back to the moghal emperors. If they did they'd probably look a lot Chinese than Pakistani. Nowadays its a romantic idea to be associated with the once glorious empire of the Moghals just like how people in Pakistan would rather claim that their entire family came from the middle east or Iran rather than India.

Re: Mughal

Dont know about the sons perhaps his daughters survived. But his sons were killed soon after Bahadur's Trial so they wouldn't stifle a revolt against the british in an attempt to take over the throne.

Re: Mughal

Let me go through 'The Last Mughal'. I kinda remember that there were some male members with Bahadur Shah from his family when he was exiled to Rangoon (Burma).
