ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday put a restriction on TV anchorman Mubashir Lucman from conducting any programmes, DawnNews reported.
IHC’s Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui heard the case against Lucman on a petition filed by the Lal Masjid Shuhada Foundation.
In the plea, applicant Hafiz Ahtesham’s lawyer Tariq Asad said in court that Lucman defamed and ridiculed people during his shows, adding that he had also derided the superior judiciary.
The lawyer further stated that no action was taken against the TV anchor by government institutions.
Justice Siddiqui remarked that several complaints were received against Lucman, adding that no action was taken by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regularity Authority (Pemra) and the Ministry of Information in this regard.
Justice Siddiqui also said that Lucman kept on discrediting Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja while he was hearing a case in relation to the conduct of a television channel.
The court inquired about the action taken by Pemra over the complaints that it had received against Lucman.
The court subsequently adjourned the hearing and issued summons for secretary information and the Pemra chairman.

It was due to Mr. Mubashir Lucman that I became aware of the large sums of money received by Indian celebrities just to attend the wedding of Mr. Mir Shakeel-ul-Rehman's daughter.
I can't vote on his character.......but like TS said.....at least he's doing his job as an investigative reporter.
I found out about the Utho Jaago Pakistan fiasco due to his show.

Yup he's not an anchor, not a journalist, just a bijamalo, a papa kutni figure who wants to be a perfect opportunist. I strongly recommend a national award to him for that.
Just when he saw the ARY-GEO rivalry he took the tasks to slain every single thing related to Geo. A perect story maker. Ofcourse people who didnt like Geo for any reason considered him the holiest of all, the peer, the murshid.

his issue was jaskay lena, and jan na chadna, he lost his credibility after his planted show. and i said k iss jasay sub ko ban hona chahye, media is also politicized

ya its just a coincidence that wutever "corruption" he's exposing is always related to Geo somehow, the rivals of ARY. May be they were the only one doing corruption in pak and now when Geo is banned, there is no corruption at all. Especially Malik Riaz was never involved in any sorta corruption.
I already recommended a national award for the Con artist Mubashir luqman, im sure he must be singing "pak saaf pakistan" these days .. :)
