Umer: Salman Butt played only one game against India and you labelled him that he is not good against India? I guess if you can claim that Tendulkar averages 8 against Sami then this above conlusion is not a far fetched one :)

However, at least if we can consider the "pitch" variable, his inclusion does seem to be worthy. Otherwise, it would be equivalent to a needle in a haystack.

If Farhat can get a call and be included after performance in a team-A match, then Butt can be removed for not proving himself in a match with national team. :)

Umer, Imran Farhat wasn't recalled based on this century in this Pak A vs Ind but also he was one of top performers in the domestic area, so the decision to include him in the squad is not based on one-off performance.

Just to add a little note with Salman Butt, I think his "capability" of reaching any ball that is pitched outside off-stump, is getting dangerous, day by day. He has lost his wicket in the similar fashion in the past, and hopefully, he removes one of this traits soon enough, before it eats him alive.

Yes and he was an excellant performer at international level as well. Plus, he has a caring father-in-law.
Farhat, Taufiq and Yasser can form a perfect "Tets opening pair" amongst them but all of them have one common problem, they can fail to concentrate at times and give their wickets cheaply. Thats why they were dropped in favor of Afridi and Butt, who may not be as technically strong but have confidence and determination.

Correct, and I do believe he should be added in. Going by the same theory, it is more of a fitting to add Kaneria, instead of Razzaq, but then again, the pitch.........the pitch.........the pitch.
And that would be a negative on your opening statement. :)

Farhat takes the cake as far as getting out in ridiculous fashion is concerned. More often than not, he throws away his wicket in an absolutely horrible, pathetic way. And on top of that, he wears this banadana that sticks out from under his helmet that really ticks me off.

well we need bowling options as well and considering Rana and shoaib akther and sami can bat a bit as well. I think this team provides more balance.
