I recently had a trial with Sadaf (Alle nora) in London, i must admit i was quite excited at first as i thought the standard would be of Alle noras in lahore, however much to my disapointment she turned me into a clown. It was quite simply the worst make-up i have ever had done! I am quite confused now as i have an event coming in July and need a good MUA who actually knows what she is doing instead of using other peoples repuation to back them up. Does anyone know any MUA's in England who are capable of doing that?

Oh there is a whole thread dedicated to how Sadaf made people looks like clowns. I still have the pics of when she did my trial and whenever I look at them I cannot belive that someone could actually do that to someones face!
Anyhow try Hena/Shanaz - they are based in Finchley but be aware they are pricey.
I was quoted £600 for just the wedding day! I made her bring it down to £400 so make sure you don't pay a penny more than that.
She was charging £250 to do my registry makeup and said she will only put on "abit of foundation, gold eye shadow and lip gloss" - I can do that for free at home! Which is what I will do!
But anyway went with them as they are good and really do listen. I have a European girl called Eenus doing my makeup and she really listens and doesnt enforce her "expertise" on her clients.

Getting married soon and I really need to find myself a bridal make up artist. I want some 1 really good, some one who does traditional pakistani make up…am interested in the following but they are all so expensve especially when i add on the call out charges and thats why I wanted to know people’s views and past experiences about the following make up artists (dont have time or money to go for so many trials)
Ambreen (Ambreen - Professional Make-up Artist)
Lubna Rafiq - her website seems amazing but not sure if she is really to that standard
Not too interested in others like naveeda or gini bhogal - gini bhogal although seems good I dont like her eye make up so much as it does not stand out.
Anyway pls guys let me know…past experiences…photos…anything … really need your help so pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

oh dear God!
I've forever loved Naveeda's makeup in mags and her dv etc....so i was going to book her for my wedding day without a trial.
after reading all your reviews i'll defn reconsider... i was thinking of having a look at Lubna aswell, but someone here mentioned she's not that great either.
so which one's the best one then...in London???

I went for a trial with Naveeda and she ain't nothing special, if u go down to her salon ask them to show u real brides shes done :)
Ambreen is very good, unfortunately she wasn't available for my dates so I have a close friend of hers doing my make up (Uzma syed) and Ambreens mum doing my hair
Luba did my cousins make up she's ok'ish
Another cousin got married a few weeks ago and she had a trial with this allenora chick but for some reason she messed her around and ended up going with some lady called Rehana (trained by depilex) she did a pretty good job.
who ever u go with just make sure u get a trial done b4 hand

Okay, reading the reviews about Naveeda has made me think again...
I rang up gini bhogal and she quoted £400 for the day and £80 trial. the trials pretty expensive but i guess i'll have to get it done.

Yeh my sister had Zaynab on her wedding day 10 yrs ago and she was excellent but apparently I heard she has moved to Dubai. ZaynabB doesn't have a contact tel so I emailed her instead and have not received a reply yet.
I like lubna rafiqs work on her webiste but there are no pictures of real brides and thats what I find so annoying. I dont like their touched up pictures but sometimes you just want to see the real brides. Because I am npton I dont have time to personally go and see their portfolio's.

Well still waiting or would love to receive some real bride pictures for all you who have booked these people in the past or your cousins have etc. Just email em..would really appreciate it... (will delete them as soon as I have seen)

Funny story about Sadaf from allenora. When I went for my trial with Seema syed she told me how she knew sadaf, and she gets her ready for events and stuff. When my cousin a couple of weeks ago got married she had Rehana from depilex and she said the exact same thing. A bit weird when ur a make up artist yourself and getting ur make up done from others :s

My cousins get their hair done by Jawaad and he does a very good job. I haven’t seen any of his real brides for real, but my cousin knows him quite well and says he does a very good job, but u can click on the “real brides” section on his website and tell for ur self Jawaad :::: Hair & Make-Up Artist

Trust me she is. I've worked with her on various Fashion Shows in the UK. She's definitely who I'm gonna use for my wedding...when that happens lol.
