MSN & YAHOO messenger ek saath!!

Group hug! Friends on Yahoo! and MSN can soon share instant messages.

For instant messaging fans, this rates right up there with the Berlin Wall. Working hand-in-hand with our friends at MSN, we’re hammering out a solution to connect our two thriving global IM communities.

Which means soon (we’re thinking the first half of 2006), friends on Yahoo! Messenger with Voice and MSN Messenger can see when friends are online, share IMs and emoticons, easily add new contacts from either service to their Messenger Lists, and more.

Re: MSN & YAHOO messenger ek saath!!

Ever heard of Trillian?

Re: MSN & YAHOO messenger ek saath!!

I used Trillian for a while and then gave it up. Its too "heavy", plus at that time, it was missing some of the functionalities, that are in stand-alone IM softwares. Not sure about the latest version, though. But a more stream-lined solution is, ofcourse for all these IM services to have compatibility. AOL, most likely, will be the one against such compatibility, cz in their narrow vision, their #1 position as IM will become endangered. Buffoons!

Re: MSN & YAHOO messenger ek saath!!

good deal.. and who wants AOL.. they let DHS snoop in on their users anyway.. so better they stay out of this..

Re: MSN & YAHOO messenger ek saath!!

Well, as a matter of practice and policy, anything you put in an email or IM or phone or whatever, should be able to stand up to scrutiny by security agencies. Doesn't matter which service you are using.

Re: MSN & YAHOO messenger ek saath!!

Multi-protocol IM client isnt a new idea. Im not a big fan of these either.

Here is another one that has been around a while and constantly tweaked and upgraded:

Miranda

Available protocols: ICQ, AIM, MSN, Jabber, Yahoo, Gadu-Gadu, Tlen, Netsend, and more

“More” includes Google Talk as well.

Re: MSN & YAHOO messenger ek saath!!

I hope the combined messenger or the ability to see contacts from each others' clients would be better than Trillian and the like.

Who uses AIM anyway? I thought it's outdated?

Re: MSN & YAHOO messenger ek saath!!

i tried trillian for a few days. didnt like it much. so now i just use yahoo, msn and aim individually.
but i like yahoo better cuz i can leave offline messages. :)

Re: MSN & YAHOO messenger ek saath!!

I would be the first one to use it. I like Yahoo Messenger much better than MSN Messenger but it does me no good if most of my contacts are on Msn messenger. Can't wait for this.

Re: MSN & YAHOO messenger ek saath!!

Good for me. I didn't use yahoo messenger in my life. I don't even have my own ID.

Re: MSN & YAHOO messenger ek saath!!

Check it out, pretty cool :k:

Re: MSN & YAHOO messenger ek saath!!

hmm for Linux users there used to something like imici and now
Gaim.. supports lots of protocols.

Re: MSN & YAHOO messenger ek saath!!

Didn’t Odigo did that (you could log in into your AOL, MSN, and Yahoo instant accounts from there messenger?).

Though it disconnected a lot (rarely did all 3 worked for me at the same time) but dunno maybe they improved now?

Re: MSN & YAHOO messenger ek saath!!

Has msn and google come up with something similiar?

Re: MSN & YAHOO messenger ek saath!!

when are they going to release this.?
