All was working well. I’ve been using MSN 7.0 for a good 3-4 months without any major problems. So about two days ago all of a sudden its started acting up.
When i click on any username to open a chat window it hangs up my computer for about 30-40 seconds and then the window opens. Happens for every message window, both incoming and outgoing.
I have since tried to do a XP system restore to 4 days ago. The restore was succesful but the problem with MSN persisted.
Tried uninstalling 7.0 and installing 6.2 but that just wont let me log me in.. instead forces me to upgrade to 7.5. No ifs no buts.
I use it in the labs on campus and it works fine for me. I decided to install it at home even after reading the troubles Mr Lota has been experiencing. I must add he's no longer alone facing this problem. I've had my PC choke for a moment of two when using this new MSN. Although my PC at home is a lot faster, cleaner and safer than the ones on campus.
It can't be trojan/spyware. I try to keep my PC clean at all times.
yes its because u were using polygamy patches right? remember they are NOT bugfree and since they modify some of the core files it can easily mess ur msn up sooner or later.
Smart! I've been using MSN Polygamy software. I guess I should stop using it. Thanks! I'll try it out for a few days and will complain if the problem persists.
