Re: Mrs.Indira Gandhi

1971 was a collateral damage. There is no point in discussing that.
Re: Mrs.Indira Gandhi
Then Mrs Gandhi is neither Madhuri Dixit nor Lata Mageshkar to gain perception of Pakistani masses at large ![]()
Re: Mrs.Indira Gandhi
Says it all.

BTW, what do you want to know about Indira from Pakistani perspective, if not 1971. Without reference to 1971, she is an unknown ordinary Indian PM for us Pakistanis like Moraji Desai. We know Indira’s dady due to Independence movement, Aunty Advina and Kashmir issue. If we forget 1971, she was simply Nehru ki chhokri for us.

Yes.
Nehru never agreed to Punjab Suba as he saw that demand as religious, Indira divided Punjab into three states for political purpose, it gave two states to congress and then only Akalis in Punjab. Nehru's politics was based on principles Indira's principles were based on Politics.
It is entirely wrong to attribute Indira's rise to Nehru, he had no role in it :)

had Nehru dealt with Bhindranwale? May be if such circumstances arose during Nehru's time, he had to take same decision as Indira took later.

Situation wouldn't have come then.
Indira pushed Bhidranwale from Damdami Taksal (a sikh religious school) to politics to dislodge Akalis from the power. Bhidranwale never like Akalis because according to him they were not sincere to Sikhism. Indira had to deal with Bhidranwale because she created him.
Nehru wouldn't have gone that way at first place, he was more inclusive of difference and has capability to indulge in intellectual debate, with all his charms I am sure he would have persuaded Bhindranwale from not entering in the politics even or with his sheer political strength would have kept him irrelevant.

read that Bhindranwale used provocative language and used to refer Indira as 'PanditaN di dhi'. Have you heard that joke when one of Indira's bodyguard met Bhindranwale in paradise (after assasinating Indira)?

Bhindranwale, asked the guard ' mang jo mangna hai'?
The guard (who assasinated Indira) said , he needs employment and said that he only knows duties of a guard and requested Bhindranwale to keep him as a guard.
Bhindranwale said , 'he can't take risk' :D
