MRC issues list of ‘chauvinist’ journalists

KARACHI: The Mohajir Rabita Council (MRC), described as a group of elders of the Mohajir community, has declared the names of “the chauvinist” journalists, writers and analysts, who according to it are working against the “offspring of the elders included in the Pakistan Movement” in the aftermath of the May 12 incidents.

MRC’s vice president Yaqoob Bandhani and secretary general Tassaduq Hussain issued a joint statement Tuesday, saying that the MRC has established a ‘cell’ to inform the new generation of Mohajirs about their ‘enemies’. “These elements are similar to those whose actions caused the division of Pakistan in 1971,” the statement went on to say. “The same kind of intellectuals and writers ‘beat the drum’ in happiness [baghlain bajaeen] on the killing of ZA Bhutto, repeated army operations against Balochistan and operations against the offspring of those who had struggled for the creation of Pakistan,” the statement said.

Listing the names of journalists, the statement said that, “Now it has become necessary to inform the nation about these cruel elements and those who conspire against humanity.” The names of the journalists and human rights activists listed include the “Abbas brothers”, a family belonging to the media (Zafar Abbas of Dawn, Azhar Abbas of Dawn TV and Mazhar Abbas of AFP), Ayaz Amir (Dawn), Sajjad Mir (TV One), Irfan Siddiqui (Nawa-e-Waqt), Dr Shahid Masood (Geo TV), Aneeq Ahmed (ARY), Afsar Imam (Aaj TV), Zahid Hussain (Geo TV), Shaheen Sehbai (ARY), Zarar Khan (AP), Iqbal Haider (HRCP).

Meanwhile, in a separate but joint statement issued Tuesday, MQM Rabita Committee members Muhammad Ishfaq and Jawed Kazmi said that some political elements and “chauvinist” participants of different TV programs were playing a dangerous game to destroy Pakistan by igniting linguistic prejudices. staff report.

“If I were anyone of them, I'd be packing my bags and changing my profession about...right now”

These journalists should be given highest award, as this is equivalent to Jihad against terrorism. I must say in face of huge opposition from every corner of Pakistan against MQM terrorists, it should be other way round. MQM should pack up and look for other jobs, other wise people would force them to pack up.

Re: MRC (MQM) issues list of ‘chauvinist’ journalists

I agree they are doing a wonderful job of exposing terrorists, particularly those journalists who reside in karachi and can be targets anytime

Another example of the Murderous Quami Movement trying to kill, then denying it:

KARACHI: The Rabita Committee of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has clarified that the party has nothing to do with the Mohajir Rabita Council’s (MRC) statement about journalists

Interestingly, the Mohajir Rabita Council’s press release listing the names of journalists was faxed to the press from the MQM’s headquarters even though it carried the address, B-3, Block 14 Gulistan-e-Jauhar

Its just to warn them

OR

May be they want to send a reference against them too.

Re: MRC (MQM) issues list of ‘chauvinist’ journalists

MQM and Altaf are the biggest enemy of the people of Karachi. They destroyed industry and education in Karachi.

Aitizaz Ahsan on his May 13 press conference told the reporters that the people of Punjab and Sarhad were very grateful to MQM as due to its policies too many industries shifted to the north.

That's very true. The prime example is that of Pakistan Tobacco Company. You know guys, if you remember back in 1991 or 1992, the so called Qaid-e-Tehrik went on movement of quiting "smoking". The real story behind that the PTC refused to pay bhatta. They were then threatened by MQM that they wont be able sell their cigarettes in Karachi. PTC unbolted their factory and took it to Islamabad!

Who was left holding the baby? Poor Karachi's people!

Re: MRC (MQM) issues list of ‘chauvinist’ journalists

The gap between “Modern day media” and 'prostitution" is reducing day by day.

I have no example to prove this in case of Pakistani media, but definately I have observed, closely how “extra liberal” Indian media has turned itself into a “lifafa” greedy tabloid.

A wonderful case study was a CD row of one prominent politician in India named Amar Singh, all TV channels got the CDs from anonymous source which contained very embrrassing conversations of Mr. Amar Singh…instead of broadcasting it, the Channels deliberately waited so that next day the great Amar Singh’s lawyers can approach court and obtain a legal stay.

I written to all Channels and newspapers including Times, NDTV, IBN etc. but no one responded or published it.

That is why I say, media can be manipulated when they want to “awaken” the masses.
Let’s call it “psy-ops”.:grumpy:
