Mr. Bush, where is our apology?

Mr. Bush has apologized to S. Korea over a road accident of two schoolgirls death.

Forty Masjid, 4 hospitals, two wedding parties, 8 schools and two food warehouses are bombed and thousand Afghans are killed (not Talibans and Al Qeada) by Americans.

Nice point

But ur asking wrong country and wrong person George bush senior once said **“I will never apologise for the United States of America - I don’t care what the facts are,” ** said President George Bush Sr. in 1988, when the U.S. Navy warship Vincennes shot down an Iranian commercial airliner. The plane was on a routine flight in a commercial corridor in Iranian airspace. All 290 civilians on board the aircraft were killed.

So while George Bush Jr. demands that the world observe a minute of silence for the dead and injured civilians of September 11th, the 290 dead Iranian civilians of 1988 didn’t even get an apology. Neither did the nearly 8,000 Afghani civilians who have died in the last year as a result of U.S. led air strikes in Afghanistan, a campaign appropriately titled ‘Enduring Freedom.’

:disgust:

Hi,
Are you sure GBS said that? Total ignoramous for not apologizing. BTW? Did Iran apologize for taking hostages?

But I don't agree with the politics. I think wrong. I think at first it was something to take Americas mind off of the economy.., (and 9/11, but that had nothing to do with Iraq? did it?)

Maybe not wrong to wish Saddam was out...but probobly he wishes GBJ was out. So guess even in that respect.

Anyways, One of my fav quotes:
The simple step of a courageous individual is not to take part in the lie.

When the US gets apologies for the thousands killed on 9-11, it can consider issuing apologies too. Instead, there are people on this very board who think 9-11 was OK because of their political grievances with the US.

"We regret any loss of civilian life. U.S. forces are intentionally striking only military and terrorist targets. We take great care in our targeting process to avoid civilian casualties." (Department of Defense spokeswoman Victoria Clarke, October 23)

"The last thing we want to do is cause any civilian casualties." (General Richard Myers, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, October 22)

"We have taken every possible step to avoid civilian casualties, to make sure that the U.S. military response is carefully targeted.... This is, as we have made clear many, many times, not an attack on the Afghan people. The objective is to end the terrorist threat to the world community."(Department of State spokesman Richard Boucher on October 11)

DerVaisH, more U.S. Forces were killed by way of "friendly fire" in the Gulf War than killed by Iraqi forces. Civilian deaths do not help the U.S. in any way what-so-ever. It is far from a perfect targeting system and won't be for a very long time, but billions of dollars have been spent to in order to make civilian deaths less likely.
