I won't comment on the source. However it is true that GWB went to Israel when he was Goverenor of Texas. Israel is one of the only two countries Bush has visited outside the US. The other being Canada - during his days with Texas Rangers games with Toronto Blue Jays. PM Ariel Sharon was his official tour guide during his visit to Israel. Sharon alluded to this fact in his victory speech in 2001. A clip of GWB and Sharon in Israel was shown during one of NBC Nightly News broadcasts. Since he thinks of himself as a born-again Christian it is highly probable.
