A brilliant peace of work again by Aparna Sen.
Its story of a Muslim photogrpaher Jehangir and a Tamilian Brahmin Hindu housewife Mrs.Iyer stuck in a bus because of riots and how they survive it.
Sequence of rioteering on the bus is cruelly disturbing (Anjan Dutt, playing a petrified Jew, gives away the old Muslim couple to the riots and sobs, “They would have killed me. I don’t have foreskin”).
This scene is briallint.
Music is by Zakir Hussein.
Jehangir’s role is played by dashing Rahul Bose.
Mrs.Iyer is Aparna’s daughter Konkana.
Brilliant movie.
