Zardari does seem to be moving in that direction.
Asked whether he wanted to lead the PPP, Mr Zardari told the BBC that would be "the party's decision".

i hope not, i was lead to believe he was responsible for the corruption in bb's previous terms. besides what qualifies him, theres no monarchy in pakistan

That would be the death knell for PPP. They should hold elections and elect a leader. People like Aitzaz and Fahim should be the favourites to win any such contest.

But sadly this is how the politics in our country works. Dynasties, Families. A better education is the only cure that could help us escape from this.
Lets chose new faces this time, lets not vote for any party who does not allow to elect its leaders at the grass roots.

Now if people vote for PPP and during the premiership run towards army to save their asses from another mr. 70%, army should simply kick their butts very hard and say, you elected them for 5 years.

If one foul swoop Zardari has exposed what a fraud the PPP really is, especially about democracy. Just wait for a lot of the sympathy to drain away, and blood feuds break out in Sindh over this decision.

Yeah I suspect that too. Pakistanis have very short lived memories when it comes to some tragedy. At the moment people have that sympathy, come the life to normality, the reality will set in.

pml-q is back in business big time. zardari is probably the second least popular politician in punjab after altaf hussain. pml-q is going to go nuts over (n) link's with zardari. this is good news.
