When there is a will, there is always a way. They got good people, who can make it a good political party (although this requires a lot of time and depends how other parties reacts. MQM was a reaction. These parties and people doesn't come from air)

there are many good people in the party that do not side with the current leadership but are at the mercy of it.....
I would be only too pleased to see a re-org provided there are sincere efforts and the resultant party is cleansed of those elements that live off extortion.

Isn't it interesting that the supreme leader of a political party is acknowledging that the party members have been running extortion, bhatta, land grabbing and parchi businesses.

This is the same scenario that we faced in 90s. So now there is a high probability that there may be some defections in party as agencies will get a hold on disgruntled ppl and use 'em, just depends how far they are going to take it.
Right now bhai is clearly very confused on many things and doing blunders one after the other.
I've no doubt in saying nothing is going right for them since elections.

What good MQM has brought so far or has to offer to the Pakistan, that makes you think that they should re-org? I think this gang should dissolve. All the clean ones are either dead or are side lined. If there are few left, they have APML or other parties to work for.
I think with PTI's emergence, there is no need for a regional party in the most important city of Pakistan. Karachi should be represented by federal party that has representatives from all province. There should be a divided mandate in big cities, so couple of seats to JI and PPP wouldn't harm. This is important, so when it comes to the local body elections, there is always a good opposition to have a check and balance.
If it were Lahore where majority belongs to one ethnic group, its different. PMLN or PTI can hold onto the city in Nat/Prov and upto some extend local bodies as well. But for a complex city like Karachi, the mandate must be for some federal parties, that not only will unite ppl with the rest of the Pakistan, but divided mandate will put pressure to do more and do it right for the people.

So what about ANP and bla's (all the assorted ABC balochi parties)? Do they get dissolved as well or is only karachi "fit" for the treatment?

If you are comparing MQM to BLA, it is high time people should realize how criminal this cult has become. Yes, BLA needs to go. ANP is a political party with a non-violent past and was only forced by MQM to take up arms in Karachi.
