MQM can only form alliances with major political parties that exist in pakistan and believes it can make more of a difference by working with and from the inside. It does not believe in sitting in PONAM or ARD for the next 100 years and accomplishing zilch.

When it comes to taliban and jihadis, MQM has had a life long struggle with them even before the term taliban became famous, so you don't have to worry about that. The bigger worry is that PML-N, JI, JUI, PTI and certain segments of ANP are already in the taliban camp.

from an ethical standpoint, MQM is no better than PML(Q) because both were Musharraf's favorite, and MQM went out of its way to please ex-dictator. May 12th? Neither party had anything to say about operations during the last 8+ years, and remained a part of the Govt throughout despite epic failures under a joint govt. that allowed the extremists to thrive and grow in strength and numbers.

I for one will attest to the fact that MQM will never align itself with anything that is remotely associated to Islam...
Altaf bhai, following in the foot steps of other secular fascist stalwarts of the past and present, i.e. Kemal and Musharrarf, is particularly allergic to religion, therein lies the genesis of MQM, to co-opt Jamaat's hold/popularity amongst the urdu speaking popluation of urban Sindh...
Altaf will never go against his mai-baaps and align with Islamic-oriented parties...He will embrace even those who've been on the forefront of anti-mohajir/urdu speaking sentiment/agenda...this is precisely the reason why MQM has favored and aligned itself with all parties under the sun, particularly PPP, a party that carried out massacres of urdu speaking people of Karachi/lallookhait going back to the ethnic/lasani riots of 70s to large scale pogrom of persecution that resulted in deaths of thousands of young mohajir men during the operation cleanup of the 90s.
Yet MQM's diametric, unconditional and prennial opposition of Islamic parties, particularly Jamaat Islami, which have collectively done nothing on the sacle of what PPP has done to harm the interests of urdu speaking people, reinforces the fact that MQM is an anti-islam, anti-pakistan, anti-mohajir, anti-urdu-speaking, fascist, terrorist parities with only two agendas, to enrich it's leader sitting pretty in London and to work as a proxy of foreign powers...nothing it does is logical or with interest of mohajirs, karachites, or Pakistanis in mind...In fact MQM has been an epitome of what hypocritical, insidious, opportunistic, and flip flopping leadership and political agenda ought to look like...

Funny thing is that the pakistani public has also disowned these Islamic political parties since Pakistan's independence. No one wants political pseudo-islam of the wahabi/salafi sect pushed down their throats by gunpoint. Facts - always good for something!
