Based on 1951 Census of displaced persons, 7.226 million Muslims went to Pakistan from India while 7.249 million Hindus and Sikhs (and very small amounts of Muslims) moved to India from Pakistan immediately after partition. About 11.2 million or 78% of the population transfer was on the west, with Punjab accounting for most of it; 5.3 million Muslims moved from India to West Punjab in Pakistan, 3.4 million Hindus and Sikhs moved from Pakistan to East Punjab in India; elsewhere in the west 1.2 million moved in each direction to and from Sind. The initial population transfer on the east involved 3.5 million Hindus moving from East Bengal to India and only 0.7 million Muslims moving the other way.

why there is no political party for Mohajirs (who migrated from pakistan) in india ,most of the refuges in india are very rich , they are really hard working people and contributed a lot to the society, they came to country with empty hands and they have a decent lifestyle now

Simple, India is a far larger country… Its has a lot more diversity so its easier for people to just fit in…
In Pakistan, there are only 4 major ethnic groups that are very distinct… Mohajirs who came to Pakistan had a far harder time fitting into a country with far less diversity…

^LOL... If you say so, but if they really are Punjabis, then thats the worst punjabi I have ever heard, and the best Urdu ever out of any Punjabis mouth...

Well being the largest province, majority of the overseas Pakistanies are punjabies. I used to work in the office of a cab office in London - most of the cabbies from were Punjab (approximately 15) with only two from Karachi.

Most of the taxi drivers I have met overseas are either mahajirs, dravidian Indian muslims or Sikhs.. West Punjab is happy Punjab. East Punjab is sad Punjab. When Sikhs vist my village(Sheikhpura/Nanakana Sahib) we welcome them as guests and stay in our houses.. they are always amazed to see facilities in our houses in villages- power, clean water, food and shelter for everyone. They leave happy everytime. They laugh why mahajirs ran to Karachi when there's so much happiness in Punjab. And let me let you brother. When Mahajirs came to Punjab for better life, they were welcomed initially but some miscreants(not all) couldn't resist the temptation of asking for bhatta and robbing people of hard-earned mobile phones- thats why such a bad reputation. But I have to say this doesn't reflect what an average mahajir is like.
