According to Rauf Siddiqui, the party chairman is in a lot of mental stress although there’s no case against him. Although the party is cooperating with the authorities, still the homes of party officials are being raided. The party also believes that negative propaganda and conspiracies are being hatched against the party, in which some members of some Pakistani political parties are also involved.

What is the story?
Re: MQM writes letter to British PM
Pathetic that the British gov lets this tool sit in UK. But then again every ghunda has a habit of running off to UK and they know with Altaf pai in their pocket they can use him to destablise Karachi at will.
If they follow their own laws there is NO way this guy should be allowed to stay in UK alone be allowed to be a national.

Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) leader Rauf Siddiqui has written a letter to British Prime Minister David Cameron and Scotland Yard, condemning media trial and negative propaganda against Altaf Hussain, Geo News reported.
In the letter, Rauf Siddiqui asked British PM Cameron that why their leader Altaf Hussain was being mentally tortured despite the fact there was no case against him.
He said they were fully cooperating with the British police in investigation in Imran Farooq murder case.
Rauf Siddiqui questioned why the MQM leaders houses were being raided despite cooperation.

UK police confirm receiving MQM letter - thenews.com.pk
**LONDON: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has alleged that its London-based leadership is being subjected to victimisation in Britain in relation to the three active cases involving senior leaders of the party and revealed for the first time that the personal bank accounts of Altaf Hussain and some of the MQM’s London-based leaders have been frozen.
In a letter addressed to the British Prime Minister David Cameron, Home Secretary Theresa May, Metropolitan Police Chief Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe, the MQM’s prominent leader and former provincial minister Rauf Siddiqui made a number of allegations against the Metropolitan police and the government and questioned why Altaf Hussain, the London-based MQM founder and leader, was being harassed and given mental torture by the investigators from the Scotland Yard and Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.
“Personal bank accounts of Altaf Hussain and others have been frozen,” said Siddiqui. It is believed that the banks have frozen these accounts on the advice of the National Crime Agency (NCA).
The Metropolitan Police confirmed receiving letter from MQM’s Rauf Siddiqui on 27 December 2013. A spokesman told The News that content of the letter cannot be discussed because it’s a “private correspondence”.
The spokesman added: “We remain committed to finding those responsible for the murder of Dr Imran Farooq and this investigation remains active.”A 10 Downing Street source confirmed receiving the letter but said that no comment will be made on “individual correspondence” and also because its “an ongoing investigation and an operational policing matter”.
In his letter, Rauf Siddiqui asked different questions from the PM, the Home Secretary and the Police chief. He was referring to the three investigations centred around the MQM leadership in London – Dr Imran
Farooq’s murder three years ago, the money laundering investigation and the hate speech probe.Siddiqui condemned the “ongoing propaganda against Altaf Hussain” and asked why he is being “troubled by baseless questioning, based on misinformation and prejudice”. He added that there are no charges yet he was being subjected to extreme measure by the investigators.
The letter – the full content of which has not been revealed – said that Altaf Hussain is a leader of millions of middle-class people and was engaged in struggle against a despotic feudal system and for the establishment of the rule of law and justice. Siddiqui said in his letter that due to the actions against the MQM leadership in London, millions of people in Pakistan were restless and shocked. He claimed that Pakistan’s feudal were using their UK support base to run a negative campaign against the MQM leader and asked the British institutions whether they were being influenced by this propaganda.
Rauf Siddiqui suggested in his letter that the UK authorities may be involved in violating the laws by putting too much stress on the
MQM leadership. He said that Dr Imran Farooq’s murder in London in September 2010 was a personal loss to Altaf Hussain and he had extended full co-operation in the murder investigation to the police but the police were subjecting the MQM leadership to pressure by raiding the houses of the MQM-linked people at awkward times. Siddiqui questioned why the Met police had taken away money from Altaf Hussain’s house. He also questioned why the UK authorities for nearly two decades didn’t ask the MQM leadership any questions about their sources of income and the tax affairs.
He wondered whether the UK authorities were being influenced by the media “propaganda” and whether they were violating the laws of their own country – a country that prides itself on defending human rights.
Siddiqui alleged that a section of the UK-based Pakistan media was involved in spreading negative news about the MQM and particularly pointed out a recently published news item in Pakistan which had claimed that Altaf Hussain had been investigated in money-laundering case for about three hours. Siddiqui said this was a baseless news piece.

I find it a bit difficult to believe that proceedings against Altaf Hussain are not at all hampered by political considerations.
