PPP needed MQM votes at that time. So every time MQM left because of being pis*ed off on something, PPP relented to save the government.
But I think this time around it may be different. PPP has enough PMLQ lotay in it that it does not need MQM votes anymore. So PPP probably will not listen to MQM regarding Kashmir election this time around.
And if PPP does not listen then MQM will not come back.

I hope there could be some compromise. I really think that PPP federal government is doing good on terrorism front, and so I hope to see the government continue. Hate to see Imran or PMLN in Islamabad.
But the problem is PPP Sindh. I read today that PPP Sindh wants Zulfiqar Mirza to be the new chief minister replacing Qaim Ali Shah. Now regardless of whether one likes or dislikes Mirza, it is very well known how much he hates MQM's guts. So it is very obvious why his name is being presented for CM post.
It is only to tighten noose around MQM's neck, and by extension, around the neck of Karachi/Urdu-speaking.
I am afraid that PPP Sindh is going to cause more trouble in Karachi. There have also been suggestions to include Saddar Town (financial hub of Karachi) in Lyari (PPP stronghold).
The omens are bad.

Government probably will not concede this time. It learnt lessons from MQM’s resignations in the past. Now it has enough PMLQ members to keep the simple majority in the parliament.

I would like to see the coalition of PPP, MQM, and ANP in federal government. These parties have very clear stand against the worst crisis Pak is facing today ... Taliban terrorism.
Their working against each other will only empower people with soft corner towards Taliban. People like PMLN and Imran.

If you open up your eyes then you will realize that MQM won 2 seats in the last elections in AJK. And the reason it gave to quit government was that PPP postponed elections on those 2 seats. Besides, MQM has won a seat from Gilgit/Baltistan as well.
Also, you only mentioned Karachi, but in reality MQM wins several seats from Hyd, Nawabshah, Sukkhur, etc.
About 'kartoot', who exactly is an angel in Karachi politics? Don't you know ANP terrorists and PPP terrorists in Lyari?

You think destabilizing PPP government is destabilizing country? Why have you suddenly become PPP supporter?
I don't think that the ppp government will be destabilized with this as they have an alliance with pmlq. It seems if the mqm's allegations about the government are true then the govt has got rid of them. I just hope this separation does not bring a new round of target killings in Karachi.

There are many rogue elements in the party who have been out of control, especially in 90s. So MQM is not the party of angels.
But to allege that MQM is the only party whose workers have been involved in terrorism is wrong. Come to Karachi. You will see that "aaye din khi men killings" are done by ALL parties involved in Karachi politics, including ANP and PPP.
