Yeh to hona tha…
When nationalism comes in, be it Pakistani, Punjabi, Sindhi or Baluchi, then ofcourse people think in the wrong direction. Lets get the direction straight first. Come on guys… The word “Pakistani” is no nationality. Unfortunately in 50 years it has not become a nationality. For many being a Punjabi or Pathan has more meaning than being a Pakistani.
Thanks to our great leaders in 50 years history! Pakistan Zindabad. ![]()

That's a nice name but shouldn't the other provinces also have neutral names?

If there was ever a naming controversy, I'd say go for a neutral name. Why prolong the dispute.
Zakk,
Its pretty clear why Altaf Hussain said this.
MQM is ANP's ally. Both these parties promote provincialism in Pakistan, MQM in Sindh and ANP in NWFP. Both have mutual interests.
They're both anti-Punjab and anti-PakArmedForces. They use the ethnic sentiments of people to incite animosity. I don't like either of these parties.
As for Altaf Hussain, his views IMO are not even worth reading. He is living a life of shameless luxury, self exiled in London, living off money that's been collected by poor people's pockets. Now and then he just gives out sensationalist statements to seek attention and keep the momentum going. He didn't find anything else to complain about to he chose the non-issue of NWFP's name, as if it really matters what the province is called? The name of the province has a direct impact on the lives of the people inhabiting it?
Allah knows best but IMO he's one of the most selfish and hypocritical politicians of our country, and MQM and ANP are both opportunist anti-Pakistan political forces.
Mash"Allah such a great news.
I am seeing what i was dreaming of! WoOoW!

You were dreaming of Altaf Hussain?
I'd call it a nightmare, to be honest. Do some sadqa... bakra shakra.
In 50 years 5 different times the military had to take control of Pakistan due to corruption. Great leaders you say?
The problem is not Pakistan but the current Pakistani establishment; unfortunately it becomes very hard to differentiate between the two especially when all the 3 minority provinces have no say in Pakistani diplomacy.

Ignorance at its best. Yes we don't have running water because shukaar Allhamdulillah we are the citizen of the holy nation of Pakistan fair and square.
As a Pakistani you have no right to even utter such words "If you wish to kill Muslims so be it."
Muslims were people of Bangladesh, in fact they were Pakistani Muslims.
Muslims are people of Waziristan, in fact they are Pakistani Muslims.
Muslims are the people of Balochistan, in fact they are Pakistani Muslims.
You are a true Pakistani diplomat in the making, use ISLAM and the Muslim brotherhood drum. This might work on the khar-pathans killing their own kind in Waziristan, this worked on the khar-pathans who killed Banglis to please their Punjabi masters, this have worked on Afridis and Waziri who brought you Azad Kashmir, not me son. I don’t dance to that beat, not any more.
It is all about self interest CM, as we see it, as we saw it. Self interest even if it means to humiliate a man of character like that of Abdul Qadeer Khan. If it is in the interest of the Pakhtuns to stay with Pakistan then be it, if it is not then be it.

First of all Islamabad is obviously being sarcastic, anybody can see that.
Second, let's talk Pasthun self interest. Is it better that Pakistan was destroyed and made into provinces?
Who do you think would benefit from that in Asia? My guess is the Tadjiks and Uzbeks in Afghanistan and Hindus/India as a whole. I'm sure the US and Israel would also be quite pleased to see the only nuclear powered muslim country on earth destroyed as well.
Pakistan has always supported Pashtun domination of Afghanistan (many would say they do so today). As for the running water thing, the living conditions in Paksitani "NWFP" -rightly or wrongly named- are much better than those in Southern Afghanistan, do you argue that?
But if its any solace to you, I think the Pakistani situation is almost beyond the point of being reparable. I'm not sure that the Pakistani state can be saved from the damage done to it. To me thats a terrible thing, but to each his own.

Pakistan would even support Jews if it was in their interest, what are you talking about? So what if they "supported" Pashtuns in Afghanistan? Did you know that they turned around and helped the US topple the Taliban (Pashtuns)??
What a goof!!
Welcome to Pakistan, the land of dictators and their lackeys. It is not far from reality that anything like pakistanyat doesn’t exist in smaller provinces but in Punajb it is not the case. Punjab itself has become the synonym for Pakistan. It is a country without a nation but of many ethnic groups and for most of them their ethnicity is their sole identity. To my way of thinking, the first and the most important reason is the lack of a working constitution and unstable democratic institutions. The constitution of a country ensures/protects the rights of its citizens and it also gives them a sense of nationhood. In the democratic countries of the west it is revered like Bible,in Pakistan it is as worthless as a whore. The dictator of Pakistan has distorted it to that extent that it is beyond recognition now and many politicians want to abrogate it and demanding to form a new constitution. You’ll also notice that almost all pakistanis who support the army are punjabis or mohajirs. Pakistan is becoming more and more irrelevant in interior Sindh, NWFP and in Balochistan. If it disintegrates today, nobody will shed a tear in these areas. You can call me a tratitor.

I don't know how anti-punjab and anti-army is this MQM but is it not the same MQM that was founded and nurtured by the Army (Zia) itself to counter the Sindhi nationalists in Sindh. And what about the rumours of "contacts" between Musharraf and Altaf.
Musharraf’s uniform a secondary issue:Altaf
PESHAWAR, Sept 7: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has said that whether President Gen Pervez Musharraf remains in uniform or decides to doff it is a secondary issue because every government in Pakistan has sought protection of the military uniform.

What's the issue? Put a name or two on the ballot next time. Start a Jinnah style peaceful campaign (instead of these MAToo terrorist style) to change the name and possibly an amendment in the constitution.
Sitting at your desk and spewing anarchist rants is not going to help. You want to name it Afghania? Or is it Pashtunistan (Pak-htunistan)? Got ahead and get it done and let everyone move on to the task of nation building.

No real Pashtun can LOL on Afghani plight. The Soviet commies raped noble people of Afghanistan. The only help that made a difference came from Pakistan and the US. Afghan refugees were much more free in Pakistan than any other Afghanistan-neighbor.
Afghan colonization? Yeah right! Only the commie lefties or the MAToo terrorists would come up with these theories.

But man, you said 'Im seeing what I was dreaming for', after you saw this news. As for the province having the name, thats been going on for so long, only difference is that this time Altaf Hussain made the demand, so thats why I asked if you were dreamin of Altaf.
pakhtoonistan or whatever is fine, as long as using the same concept the areas in this province where hazaras or others are i majority should have their own names, hazaristan etc.
by the same token karachi should have a separate name, cuz the majority of ppl in karachi are not ethnically sindhis..so we will have to give the city a name that fits its people.
we all know what lalukhet will be called.. chichoraistan.

Oh Cmmon! Fraudia. NWFP has been an established province since 1910. It has an current assembly and an old history. Comparing them with Hazaras and Muhajirs is a mistake.
Go Pashtunistan!
Khuda Hafiz
so what does that mean? ethnic groups who have not been in an area for some predetermined amount of time get ignored?
