These killing mostly seemed to be mafia style killings between two factions of MQM. Even if few killing are involved by the PPP as you suggested, it again seemed to me personal enemity or revange killings can not be compared with killing of innocent people who had no connection with mafia style killings. Tell me who was involved?. As far I remeber Sindh Police encircled and closed all the ways from or to Pucca Qilla when MQM killers were hiding inside. Police action took place as for many days killers comming from Pucca Qilla killing innocent people and rushing back to thier hiding place. It was serious law and order situation when Sindh Government decided to take action against killers. What you say Pucaa Qill massacre how many muhajirs died? Perhaps none. Later on what MQM did was absoluted uncalled for and condemned for ever.

Deep inside you are staunch supporter of MQM perhaps you are a Muhajir. PPP and JI are parties at Pakistan level, where as MQM is an ethnic party only care for Muhajir. To me any party on ethinic foundation is illegal, immoral and has no justification. There are lots of criminals in MQM party involving in henious crimes. Give a chance of fare elections and see who got kicked really behind. People are sick and tired of these criminal parties and should be banned.

Perhaps you didn't read my previous posts, I am a Mohajir but not a supporter of MQM. PPP, ML and JI may be national level parties but they are full of similar thugs. BTW, MQM operates in NWFP and Punjab too, whether they have gathered enough support or not is a different question.
I don't have any problem banning any party based on ethnicity be it ANP (pakhtunkhawa), MQM, JSQM, or PPI.
Is there really a chance of 'fair' election? I doubt. But unfortunately MQM will still get (majority) votes from Karachi, Hyderabad etc.

Farid, can you read properly? He never said 15,000 were all killed in pucca qilla. How can anyone argue with you when you come out and say that no muhajris were even killed? Your great PPP government killed thousands of muhajirs. This is documented by all newspapers of that time, as well as human rights groups. Read a paper, nothing else can help your ignorance.
MQM is not going anywhere. Iltaf will continue to sleep with the uniformed president and continue his public gimmickry as well. Iltaf’s relationship with Mushy, PM, and the top Musharraf league leaders is strong enough to withstand any political turbulence as long as he continues to get support for his ambitious agenda from the president house. Considering Musharraf’s desire to stay in power (and in uniform) for at least next five years and MQM’s desire to gain greater power not only in Sindh but in other regions of Pakistan as well, this symbiosis is likely to remain alive and fresh.
It’s funny how a part of Pakistan’s media has become a mouthpiece for Iltaf loyalists, almost completely eclipsing any views from chief minister’s side. I hope no journalist was threatened or beaten this time. The Chaudries will rather sacrifice a league chief minister than their relationship will Iltaf, which is far more important for their survival than a Sindhi CM. But MQM is right! If Mushy can have a lame duck prime minister, why Iltaf’s governor can not have a lame duck chief minister? After all Iltaf in not a baddy like Nawaz Sharif or Benazir and should be accomodated for providing the political lifeline to our uiformed president.
