Lets all learn to respect humanity, and not rejoice over someone's killing. Allah is sufficient as judge for Dr. Farooq's past doings now.

Yes.
At the same token let's not ever wish or pray for anyone's bad health, murder, death or assaisination.
Re: MQM leader Imran Farooq killed in London: reports
I think people who are suspecting that MQM is involved in this murder are forgettng that this is London we are talking about, not Cheechoon Kee Maliyan. London police or UK govt cannot be bought by MQM and it will be a matter of time before detectives can locate the murderer and the motive. Even a no-brainer like Altaf would know that this means the end of his political career as it will take a second for police to arrest him if he is involved in anyways.
Opps, D6C said the same thing :D
you are fogetting that British govt. harbours all the haraamiz ****They have no moral standard to follow. If Imran Farooq was needed to be removed and it was in their favour as well as MQM's then they would do what they have to. If SY is failed to make any arrest and find no political motive soon, then make your guess :)

Heart felt condolences to the family.
Re: MQM leader Imran Farooq killed in London: reports
Sad news indeed.
We have to wait till Scotland-yard finishes their investigations. Although i believe that many of the previous murders of MQM leaders might be an insider's job but its hard to believe that Altaf Bhai is that stupid to order a murder in UK. British police aint no Pakistani police. I have heard too much about UK's CCTV cameras on almost every street corner, I hope they will be able to track the guy down quickly.
If they do catch the murderer (which I think they would), would the UK investigators want to investigate the motives (political) behind it?

Re: MQM leader Imran Farooq killed in London: reports
Violence begates violence. He was killer of seven people. Before condoling his violent death think of relatives of killed people what kind of pain and torture they had gone through. I am surprised some people praying for him to be in jannah where in Quraan clearly says that killing of innocent people will never be forgiven. He some how managed to escape from worldly punishment, he should rot in hell for his deeds in this world.

**Pakistan: Imran Farooq murder linked to rows within MQM party**
Politician may have been about to endorse or join new party set up by General Pervez Musharraf, source claims
Imran Farooq was a senior figure within Pakistan’s Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) party. Photograph: AP The Scotland Yard investigation into the murder in London of the leading Pakistani politician Dr Imran Farooq has been told that rows within his own party may have led to his assassination.
Farooq, 50, was stabbed to death earlier this monthduring an attack in which he was also beaten near his home in Edgware, north London. Farooq was a senior figure in Pakistan’s MQM (Muttahida Quami Movement) party, and was in exile in London at the time of his death. The murder is being investigated by Scotland Yard’s counter-terrorism branch because of the political dimension to the killing.
Sources say intelligence suggests his death was linked to rows within the MQM.
Farooq, once prominent in MQM, had taken a back seat. A senior Pakistani source said he may have been about to endorse or join a new party set up by Pakistan’s former military ruler, General Pervez Musharraf. The source said of the motive: "It lies within the MQM. Dr Farooq was probably going to join Musharraf."He is vowing to leave his own London exile and return home to launch a fresh bid for power. His new party, the All Pakistan Muslim League, will launch its programme in London later this week.
Asked by the Sunday Telegraph about his reaction to Farooq’s murder, Musharraf said: “It is terrible that such an assassination could happen in a place like London.”
Farooq, who was married with two young sons, claimed UK asylum in 1999 alongside Altaf Hussain, the MQM’s leader. Hussain, who also lives in exile in London, has said “enemies of the MQM” killed Farooq and they will try to kill him. Pakistan’s media reported him as saying on Friday: “Now the enemies of the movement are after my life, but I want to tell them I am not afraid of anyone, whether it’s a superpower like the United States or its Nato allies or their Pakistani agents … I fear the Almighty Allah and will never bow down before the conspirators even if they get my British citizenship rescinded.”
Police in London are still hunting an attacker who, one witness said, appeared to be an Asian man. Analysts say the MQM has longstanding rivalries with ethnic Pashtun and Sindhi parties in Karachi. The MQM has also been riven by occasional internecine violence.
Before entering the UK, Farooq spent seven years on the run in Pakistan from criminal charges while the MQM was engaged in a violent battle for control of Karachi. He remained a key party figure. While MQM leader Hussain is protected by private guards and rarely appears in public following death threats, colleagues said Farooq never believed he was at risk and had played a smaller role in the party since the birth of his sons, now aged five and three.
Farooq was attacked on his way home from his job at a chemist’s shop. He was found near his home after neighbours witnessed what they believed was a fight. Paramedics were called but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
MQM party officials in the party’s stronghold of Karachi declared a 10-day period of mourning. Previous political killings have triggered riots and deadly clashes between rival factions. Police are keeping an open mind as to the identity of Farooq’s killer and their investigation continues.

What I was saying before
Re: MQM leader Imran Farooq killed in London: reports
I still believe British govt will protect Altaf. Unless the West have decided to give Mush a chance to gain control of Karachi with a broader appeal to all of supporters in four provinces. Hence launching a new national level force to replace the eventual demise of PPP after 40 years at the hands of Zardari's gang.
This is very much possible.

**Scotland Yard contacts Altaf
By our correspondent**
ISLAMABAD: The Scotland Yard investigators have established contact with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain in London to acquire information about the murder of the party leader Dr Imran Farooq, who was assassinated in London last month.
Scotland Yard, which is famous for detailed investigations, is contacting everyone who had remained associated with late Dr Imran Farooq. The MQM spokesman, Sohail, made it clear that the party is fully cooperating with the Scotland Yard in the process of interrogation since “who would be more impatient and keen to nab the killers of Dr Imran Farooq.”
Well-placed sources told The News on Friday that Scotland Yard investigators had found some clues about the assassin of Dr Imran Farooq and they have recovered the weapons used in the gory offence but they have not succeeded in pinpointing about the person/persons who carried out the crime.
Late Dr Imran Farooq had very old and close association with Altaf Hussain and since he knows all personal links of the deceased leader that could be of a great help in finding some clue about the killers. “The questioning was not an investigation or probe but to find some clue that could even remotely help in the task of the investigating team. Such contacts are not strange because close people and near and dear ones are always approached in such blind cases to reach some inkling,” the sources clarified.
In the meanwhile, Sohail told this scribe from London that the party is in active contact with the Scotland Yard and offering full cooperation for the investigations. When asked repeatedly about Altaf Hussain being approached by the investigators, the spokesman without any pause said that the whole party is helping the investigators in the probe.

Arrest over murder of Pakistan politician Imran Farooq
A man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a Pakistani politician stabbed to death in north London.
Dr Imran Farooq, 50, a senior member of the MQM party who had been in London since 1999, was stabbed in Green Lane in Edgware on 16 September.
Officers arrested the 34-year-old man in Camden at 1000 GMT. He has also been held on suspicion of a robbery in October 2009.
In October police found a kitchen knife and brick used in the stabbing attack.
The arrested man remains in police custody in north London, the Metropolitan Police said.
Dr Farooq, who was attacked on his way home, was found with stab wounds and head injuries.
Police, who had issued an e-fit of a suspect, said they still wanted to speak to two men of Asian appearance in connection with the fatal attack.
Following the murder, Raza Haroon, a member of the MQM (Muttahida Qaumi Movement) central co-ordination committee, said Dr Farooq - who was living in exile in London - had sought asylum in the UK as he was under “threat”.
Tens of thousands of mourners attended Dr Farooq’s funeral held in Pakistan’s largest city, Karachi, in November.
Dr Farooq, who was married with two sons, was buried in a graveyard close to the party’s headquarters.
Violence broke out in Karachi following his death.
