KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has decided to sit on the opposition benches at the federal and provincial level, DawnNews reported.
The decison was made by the the MQM’s Rabita committee, after days of speculation.
MQM leader Faisal Sabzwari will be the party’s parliamentary leader in the Sindh Assembly, whereas Syed Sardar Ahmed will participate in the election for chief minister Sindh.
Dr Farooq Sattar will be the MQM’s parliamentary leader in the National Assembly while Rashid Godal will be the party’s deputy leader.

It's good actually. They should work for the betterment of their constituencies, and serve the public interests from an Opposition position in the assemblies.

Did they have any other choice? Probably not, cos 21 reserved/women seats went to PPPP who now have the simple majority in Sindh assembly. In NA, being part of the govt wasnt even a question from day 1.
MQM will be left to just bhatta khori in its strongholds while sitting in opposition in both houses :P

actually, if for a second we assume that this "tat-heer" bhai is doing is real, and someone has knocked sense into him, then MQM sitting in opposition will be good for them. by sitting in opposition they effectively can say its govt's responsibility to fix things and we will support them and point out the problems and keep an eye on them. this way they get more chance to rebuild themselves.
on the other hand if they decide to play victim, which they are famous for, again sitting in opposition will give their argument more weight and they will not have to face the counter argument of "you are part of govt and protesting against it at the same time"
