this might sound like a stupid question but, is the broadcasting of your music e.g. through a mp3 player only local or do others also hear it on the frequency

You bring up a veryyyyyyy interesting point. I wonder if it can be hacked and I can increase the range. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I can be at a red light and start up something like

“Aap ko neend aa rahi hai…

It will be as good as like you are listening to a FM radio station. FM transmitters come with at least 4 frequencies (89.9 is usually one of them). These 4 frequencies are unoccupied frequencies for most of the part but sometimes a very strong radio signal transmitted on some neighboring frequency could cause disturbance. The easy way out is to change the transmit frequency of your FM transmitter and dial your car radio to that new frequency.

The item whose link I posted is not restricted to 4 frequencies, its fully open. Meaning you can switch it to whichever frequency you want.
