I am new to this forum however i have a problem to share and was wondering if any1 of yu’s cud help me out.
I have bought a new MP3 player and recv it yesterday and srted downloading songs, i placed the usb cable in the usb port and new hardware was found. Then i went to my comp and found an E drive afterwards, i downloaded songs onto the E drive & after about a 100 were downloaded, a message poped up saying:
'E/; is not accessible, this is due to an I/OP error ’
Does this mean am not downloading properly? if not then how? plz help me coz am lil worried and i was so excited to use my MP3 player,
please provide more details as what type of MP3 player you are using and/or if you are able to upload and play a single mp3 file? I am assuming that you must have rebooted your machine after getting the I/O error message. Were you able to perform the upload function after that?
I downloaded a few tracks onto the removable E drive yesterday and tried to open the E: drive this morning and couldn’t. This error which i have mentioned is what am faced with:
**E/; is not accessible, this is due to an I/OP error **
I right clicked on properties and it says 0 bytes when yesterday there were lots of songs in it?
I restarted my pc a few times after that but no luck.
I don’t know what the problem is now, i can’t open E: drive and don’t know how to transfer the songs onto my mp3 player?
I’ve read the user manual and it doesn’t help at all.
right click on "My Computer" --> Click on "Manage" --> Click on Disk Management
If you see your E Drive.. Right Click on it and hit "Delete Logical Drive"
After you do that, take the Mp3 player out and put it back again.
Mr. Genius. I did that & i can C: and D: drive in disk management but no E: drive? But when i double click on My Computer the removable E: drive is there?
Do you have another PC that u can test that mp3 on?
try this
right click on "my computer" --> select "properties" --> Go to "hardware" tab --> select "device manager" and expand (hit the plus sign on) the Disk Drive and also expand the USB controllers... If you see your players, right click on it and uninstall.. Then restart the computer and put it back ...
CC did u install any prog by any chance to download the songs on mp3. When you are downloading on your mp3, it normally needs a certain prog. However, why don't you try real player, look for the device and try to download songs on that. I would be able to guide u more from home, but in the mean time you can give it a try. You never know, it might start working. :) g'luck
Under ‘Disk Drive’ is QUANTUM FIREBALLlct20 20 and under the ‘USB controllers’ are 4 choices. 1. Generic USB Hub 2. Generic USB Hub 3. Intel(r)82801AA USB Universal Host Controller 4. USB Root Hub.
As i mentioned i’m computer illiterate, so i’m not 2 sure as to what i should uninstall? Please guide me from here.
From my understanding after reading your post, i think you are saying transfering songs from real player > mp3 player? If so, i went on real player and i couldn’t work out how to transfer songs from real player > mp3 player. There is a transfer/burn option but we haven’t got a cd burner so that didn’t work.
Either that or i have completely misunderstood you Please if you can help me in any other way then do reply.
CC you are correct, thats what I meant to say. You don’t need to burn the songs, I would try my best to post from home. Cuz, I can’t rem what I do normally on the RP to dl songs from the folder. Sorry, I totally forgot yesterday
cc you said
" i downloaded songs onto the E drive & after about a 100 were downloaded, a message poped up saying:
'E/; is not accessible,this is due to an I/OP error ' "
Did you try to play songs from MP3 player? are the songs there?
If they are then who cares what error it gives you. Your hard drive might be full and songs no longer can be transfered.
It could be windows error.
Other wise call the support desk and ask what is wrong... that’s why they are there getting paid. or Just return it and get the other one.
Good luck :)
Yes after speaking to my brother about it, he has told me that, he did that before shutting down the pc. So this is what has caused all the hassle.
Can you please tell me if you can help me sort out this mess, or else, i will have to take ek ajnabee’s advice and return it to the manufacturer.
Ek ajnabee
No the songs are gone from my mp3 player, i tried to play but no luck. I’m going to take your advice and try speaking to customer services and hopefully get a new 1 which’ll work fingers crossed.
PD

No i didn’t bend the player, my brother unplugged the mp3 player from the usb port, which seesm to have caused this problem.
