Mozilla prompts Firefox 3 users to upgrade to 3.5

It’s been a few months since Mozilla launched Firefox 3.5. And while the company still supports Firefox 3.0, that’s not going to last forever. Come next year, Mozilla will stop issuing security updates for the older version of the web browser, and don’t expect to find any new features in Firefox 3.0 anytime soon (you know, unless you install new plugins).

So it shouldn’t be too surprising that Mozilla recently started sending notices to Firefox 3.0.13 users suggesting they update to Firefox 3.5, or version 3.5.2 to be exact. Users who want to hold off can hit decide to hold off on upgrading until later or click the “never” button if 2008 was a good year and one that they don’t ever want to leave. Or you can upgrade from within the browser.

Mozilla says more than 90% of the add-ons that were built for Firefox 3.0 have been updated to work in Firefox 3.5. But if you happen to have a few plugins installed that don’t have newer versions, the update notice will alert you to this fact. So if there actually is a good reason for not upgrading, you’ll know.Mozilla prompts Firefox 3 users to upgrade to 3.5 originally appeared on Download Squad on Mon, 17 Aug 2009 15:30:00 EST. Re: Mozilla prompts Firefox 3 users to upgrade to 3.5

FF is really pushing people to update to its newer version this time around. it wasn’t so fierce for the other times. I wonder why. Competing with Chrome?

In any case…STOP PUSHING ME FIREFOX

Re: Mozilla prompts Firefox 3 users to upgrade to 3.5

Re: Mozilla prompts Firefox 3 users to upgrade to 3.5

but 3.5 keeps giving me error messages:hinna:

Re: Mozilla prompts Firefox 3 users to upgrade to 3.5

can you people try Namoroka (formally known as meinfield) ?

its fast and about security I cant say you more as its the beta test of all firefox released daily basis.

Re: Mozilla prompts Firefox 3 users to upgrade to 3.5

but can it do all that FF can do?

Re: Mozilla prompts Firefox 3 users to upgrade to 3.5

Namoroka i.e. FF 3.6 is still under development and I am not sure if I can trust it right now. Though I updated my browser to 3.5 and so far so good.

Google really have to push hard for Chrome this time as FF has already taken over the market. I am really excited about Google new apps may be they'll define the future use of browser.

Re: Mozilla prompts Firefox 3 users to upgrade to 3.5

Namoroka is actually always a beta they never make a final release as the final release gets its name as Firefox

Re: Mozilla prompts Firefox 3 users to upgrade to 3.5

Beta mostly has bugs :hinna:

Re: Mozilla prompts Firefox 3 users to upgrade to 3.5

3.5? :hehe:

No thanks. I’ll stick with 3.0

Re: Mozilla prompts Firefox 3 users to upgrade to 3.5

i think it's time you get 3.5.2 teggy. it's not bad.

Re: Mozilla prompts Firefox 3 users to upgrade to 3.5

Well, i have 3.5*.2* installed on Windows 7. Just updated today, after it kept bugging about it everytime i'd use Firefox. And have not used it yet since updating. So, i'm not sure how it behaves. All my previous attempts for new version were on vista.

But on the Vista setup, still using 3.0. Probably not going to update until it's absolutely mandatory.

Re: Mozilla prompts Firefox 3 users to upgrade to 3.5

You can always revert back to 3.0.* version(s) if 3.5.* gives ya sleepless nights

mostly has minor bugs. but it depends what use you want to have from it.

Re: Mozilla prompts Firefox 3 users to upgrade to 3.5
