Re: Moving to Toronto
Whoa… I did the same thing. I moced to Toronto in January, work at Sheppard & Yonge, also live at Sheppard & Yonge in a rented apartment.
Warning: This area is EXPENSIVE!!!
Try looking up at Yonge & Finch.. it’s cheaper, and just 2 stops on the subway from Yonge & Sheppard.
Out of curiosity, which company will you be working at? Does it start with “P” ?
Re: Moving to Toronto
Oh ok. How big an apartment are you looking for? How many bedrooms, how many square feet?
Re: Moving to Toronto
3 bed......but I am interested in Town House or House. I am okay if its in surrounding areas......I need to know which areas should I avoid and which areas are good. I am looking at Markham, Richmond Hill, Mississauga?? which one is better???BTW, I am moving from Vancouver...
Re: Moving to Toronto
Oh ok. I don't know much about townhouse prices... I've only been keeping an eye on apartment prices.
Re: Moving to Toronto
Markham and Richmond Hill might be a little closer from your workplace compared to Mississauga.
Mississauga and Markham both have large South Asian populations compared to Richmond Hill.
Also, keep in mind the winter in Toronto is usually quite bad, so you may want to get a place close to work.
Since you’re interested in purchasing a house or townhouse, you may want to check out http://www.mls.ca/
All the best! :k:

Thanks Sadiyah...
Re: Moving to Toronto
it’s big investment… so make sure u do your proper homework before purchasing the property… if you have under aged kids, then i will strongly recommend you to stay away from Scarborough… i heard Richmond hill is pretty expensive area but if you can bear it, than go for it… otherwise Mississ. and Markham are pretty much ok…also, if commuting is not a issue for you, than u should also check Oakville and Orangeville and Newmarket. …
good luck…

Re: Moving to Toronto
Lol @ 2.75
Re: Moving to Toronto
Yonge & Sheppard is a 15 minutes drive on highway 401East from Mississauga to Toronto. It takes longer during the rush hour obviously.
Scarbrough is east of Toronto and Mississauga is in the West. You will find a 3 bedroom place between 275-350 in these areas. I would suggest that you rent a place for a few months...check out the area and then purchase a house.
If you are interested in being a tenant for a few months let me know.
Re: Moving to Toronto
Fayz, do you have any place for rent??? can you give me more details??

How fast do you drive? I can only manage it in 25 minutes at best, and even that involves driving more than the speed limit!!!
