Moving to Pakistan - prespective needed

ignorance
: the state or fact of being ignorant : lack of knowledge, education, or awareness

lol pkigirl your cheap shots are adorable. I am aware I have family that lives in the village also. Like Ive said a 100 times before. I'm just giving my perspective of the better half rather than just continuously exploiting the bad.

There are alot of people in Pakistan who love it and would never leave even if they had the opportunity.

If you think I'm ignorant why don't you get off your high horse and find out why those people still stay if conditions are as intolerable as you describe and if life only goes on for 'elite'.. You will find many examples here on GS.

Re: Moving to Pakistan - prespective needed

lol dude i am SOOOO sorry i swear i have nothing against you. i don't even know why i keep bothering to comment on this but the only reason i say this is cuz you continue to speak about that one sector and how you're 100% sure there are absolutely no electricity problems in pakistan's cities and unless you live in a tent every pakistani MUST own a UPS!!! that comment just made me crack up. lol. i'm definitely not an expert on pakistan but i do know that a sector of islamabad does not define the entire city and i definitely don't think that all "city people" have UPS and apparently only village people deal with loadshedding or heat etc. we all understand you have a great life in pakistan and imported UPS but you really do need to accept the fact that 98% of pakistanis don't live like that even if they are from the city. lol. ok i honestly apologize i hate myself for being mean to you. i love pakistan...i have so many memories of that place. the thing is, in order to love a country you have to actually know something about it. more than just what goes on in the one neighborhood you were exposed to during your vacation. its the same as knowing nothing more about France than the beauty of the eiffel tower or the pope in italy. i mean, EVERYONE knows those things, but a real citizen should know the country at a deeper level.

and i know you're gonna say that you assumed this guy was moving back to "the city" where things are nicer but that's what i'm saying: even 90% of the city isn't anywhere close to as luxurious as you believe. ok i promise no more replies from me i don't wanna be mean anymore. sorry again!

Re: Moving to Pakistan - prespective needed

I know life is tough there in the suburbs like ive already said Ive got family in the rural villages and obviously they're life is not easy. I was actually suprised when I visited my mums village this year and one of my uncles had an a/c and most others had generators. So the average family there does come together to get these sort of things as they've become a necessity. But I agree with what Gina said about needed multiple batteries for UPS. My other uncle in Wah is fed up because electricity goes for majority of the day and UPS doesnt have enough time to stay charged.

Having said that I dont know anyone who has packed up from the West and gone to live in the village. Most people move into the major cities where live is alot better hence my advise to take the plunge is thats what OP wants to do.

Besides I wonder where the OP is… :hmmm:

Re: Moving to Pakistan - prespective needed

this thread is about an year old ... the OP has long since moved on from here ..

Re: Moving to Pakistan - prespective needed

lol DF, you are still banging on about villages and suburbs. as pkgrl has said, you're talking about 1 sector in one city.

go to lahore, karachi or anywhere else and what you're talking about is unheard of. only the army gets such luxuary.

no one is talking about villages, at least i'm talking about wealthy people and large residences in cantt and defence areas. the only difference with them and middle class people is that they don't feel the burden of running 2 generators but there is still load shedding most of the day.
