Moving to Dallas, TX

Re: Moving to Dallas, TX

Denver for starters! I have visited all major cities and I like Vail and Denver the best. A little crowded but awesome anyways! In Denver, you experience the culture and in cities like Vail, Avon, Aspen, Estes Park, Boulder, you realize how breathtakingly beautiful it really is! There are so many amazing places that I will never be able to write about it all here.

Re: Moving to Dallas, TX

Already have it in Houston.

Re: Moving to Dallas, TX

I haven't tried it yet. How does it stack up against the one in NYC?

Re: Moving to Dallas, TX

From what I have from people, they didnt like it. I havent tried it either.

Re: Moving to Dallas, TX

What a bummer.

Re: Moving to Dallas, TX

They are...amazing places.

The two issues I have with those cities is: cost of living and job market. Those two issues can either make or break you.

When I visit Chicago now...its amazing...pure fun...I do all the things I normally didn't do when I was living there. LOL.

Re: Moving to Dallas, TX

Dear all of the good people that live in Dallas:

Is there a way to put together a list of things to do while there in Dallas? Not to put your beloved city down but we get bored very quickly when visiting. There must be something that people from other cities don't know.

Re: Moving to Dallas, TX

The devil's advocate would suggest that Dallas is only for moving not for sightseeing :D

Re: Moving to Dallas, TX

hmmm....but there would be something that the folks living there would do for fun, right? or is the advocate is also suggesting that Dallas is no fun? :D

Re: Moving to Dallas, TX

This is embarrassing but can you list stuff to do here in Houston.

Re: Moving to Dallas, TX

Sure. The biggest thing to do here in Houston is Galveston. Other than that, Keemah boardwalk, NASA, Childrens museum, moody garden, waterwall park, downtown aquarium, galleria, zoo, a couple water parks (if you are into them), NRG, Lake conroe, buffalo bayou, discovery green, hermann park, miller outdoor theatre, there are quite a few other museums in the museum district.

I think this should cover quite a few things. As a desi in Houston there are a whole lot of restaurants here with good food.

This works?

Re: Moving to Dallas, TX

That list seems long enough I guess :biggthumb:

Re: Moving to Dallas, TX

We're pretty new here and have been quite busy with work since we landed so haven't really explored a whole lot.

But I'd say Dallas is big on the food scene...lots of interesting restaurants to explore and try. Shopping. There is Klyde Warren Park...there's usually something going on there. There are also family events and festivals happening around town that are fun for people/families to attend. You do have to find things to do here if you're not a native...that's for sure...its more of a family friendly place.
