I am in a process of moving to a new location, but in the same city. My family has only Prime TV on dish. I unscrewed the dish… now just to re-install (screw up) the dish at new location, dish network is asking $99.99, and others in the area are also demanding almost the same amount. My question is, can’t I just screw up the dish outside the wall and adjust it to 61.5 degrees (angle for Prime TV) and the receiver should be able to pick up the signals… and that’s it. Or there is more involved. Also, how do I determine which direction (east or west) the dish face should be (by trial and error, may be.) Your help and advice are needed. Thanks.
Did you ask for a dish movers plan? I believe its free.
For manual installation, set you IRD to the satellite strength menu, and you can use the trial and error method. Ive done it numerous times, works fine... Remember, you need to be facing south.
Shouldn't be a problem. Have done it quite a few times.
Thanks guys. I haven't got a chance to try it. You can image how busy I was moving this weekend that I even got a chance to access internet. Moving is not much fun. I would come back if I may need help. Thanks again.
You can do it by your self. You only need to involve DISH NETWORK GUYS for the update of your Address and Telephone number in their records and thats pretty much it.
I did it by my self without any problem. Once you are able to acquire 70+ percent of "green signal" in setup, you are good to go.
There were also some demo videos available on Dish's site, not sure if they are still there, they can be helpful in mounting it too!
Spoke are you talking about this:

Thanks for pointing that out.
Decent 6Chora, thanks for your ‘70% green signal’ tip.
