Moving from a bigger organization to a smaller one

What is it like to change jobs from a bigger organization into a smaller company?

What kind of challenges did you face? or if you had a good experience please do share ..

Re: Moving from a bigger organization to a smaller one

IT IS SO MUCH BETTER!!!

In terms of culture, a smaller company is much more close knit, kind of like family.
They allow for more leway in work hours, usually that means you can come in later than usual or earlier, stay late or leave earlier, take a longer lunch somedays or not.
I can wear more casual clothes, I dont have to come in business casual all the time, I can wear hoodies/jeans, but they dont want you to abuse it of course.
Sometimes the pay isn't competitive but it depends on your situation. Some people take the less pay for the less stress that the smaller companies bring, sometimes they pay is as competitive as if you working for a large conglomerate.
Also you need to account the length of your commute and the area the smaller company is at. This makes a huge difference in the quality of life as well. The place I was at before didn't have much restaurants and areas around the company the place I am now does.
A lot less office politics in terms of budgeting/money/who did what/where etc.

It should be noted that the bigger companies probably have a better job security than a smaller one, cause losing one or two clients might make a large impact compared to a bigger company. But for the most part, in my company I am the only one doing a certain task so that might also increase your worth/importance.

I don't have experience about this but naanguard really shared a nice info , but in my point of view , it doesn't matter you work in a small organization or you work in a big , all that matter is that you work honestly and with full effort , and you will be appreciated.
