If a movement of one part in a couple is required in order to unite the couple, it should be the lowest earner who moves, because that has the least impact on the financial health of the couple (assuming the cost of life in both locations are on par, otherwise incomes should be adjusted for living costs to come up with effective incomes)
So frankly, it depends whether I make more money than her or not.
