Move to move Prophet's tomb

Whats going on in dirty minds of King Saud’s family? making religious places more commecialised and promoting their version of Islam.

Saudis risk new Muslim division with proposal to move Mohamed

Extracts:

(1)

Dr Alawi, director of the Islamic Heritage Research Foundation, told The Independent: “People visit the chambers, which are the rooms where the Prophet’s family lived, and turn towards the burial chamber to pray.

“Now they want to prevent pilgrims from attending and venerating the tomb because they believe this is shirq, or idolatry. But the only way they can stop people visiting the Prophet is to get him out and into the cemetery.”

(2)

The plans, brought to light by another Saudi academic who has exposed and criticised the destruction of holy places and artefacts in Mecca – the holiest site in the Muslim world – call for the destruction of chambers around the Prophet’s grave which are particularly venerated by Shia Muslims.

The 61-page document also calls for the removal of Mohamed’s remains to the nearby al-Baqi cemetery, where they would be interred anonymously.

Re: Move to move Prophet's tomb

hmm...

Does it mean they r going to DESTROY the tomb or just the chambers around the tomb?

Re: Move to move Prophet's tomb

The plan under discussion is to destroy the tomb itself and move his remains to an anonymous, secret spot within Jannat-ul-Baqi.

Re: Move to move Prophet's tomb

They can not be allowed to do this ... I hope this news is a hoax and what for the place made for Isa (AS) on his return?

I have a feeling they will not be able to do this ... going by history ...

Re: Move to move Prophet's tomb

Dear bretheren ... I request that we are correct in our adab, so please refrain from referring to the perfect, in tact and sacrosanct vessel of RasoolAllah (SAW) as remains ...

Re: Move to move Prophet's tomb

history? please share and whats the link with place made for Isa (AS)?

Re: Move to move Prophet's tomb

He's descending on Masjid-e-Aqsa! Isnt he?

Re: Move to move Prophet’s tomb

I’ve done a bit of checking up and it appears The Independent might be doing one of their fake articles again …

But yeah … If you look at the chambers of the Roza mubarak …

There is a space after Sayyiduna Umar (RA)'s resting place - to accommodate a fourth body.

IS THIS GRAVE OF PROPHET MUHAMMAD (Peace Be Upon Him)

Abdullah b. Amr reports that the Prophet of Allah said: “Jesus, son of Mary, will come down to earth, marry, and father children. He will live 45 years and then die, so as to be buried next to me in my grave. Then we - Jesus and I - will resurrect between Abu Bakr and Umar”

Ibni Kathir has stated that Isa’s A.S demise will take place in Madina, where his* Janazah* (Burial) Salaat will be performed. He will then be buried beside the holy prophet Muhammad (SAW) Imam Tirmizi has narrated from Abdullah Ibn Salaam, that he said the character of the prophet Muhammed (SAW)and the fact pertaining to Isa’s A.S burial beside him, was written in the Torah
Allah’s ProphetSUP[/SUP] said:
Hazrat MasihSUP[/SUP] will die after completing the duration he was destined to pass in the world and that Muslims would offer his funeral prayers and bury him next to the grave of the holy Prophet, Hazrat Abu Bakr and Hazrat Umar(RAs).
(Mishkat, P. 480)

Allah’s ApostleSUP[/SUP] said:
After his descent on earth, Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will marry. He will have children, and he will remain on earth 19 years after marriage. He will pass away and Muslims will perform his Janaza Salaat (funeral prayers) and bury him next toRasulullah (SAW). (Tirmidhi)

Re: Move to move Prophet’s tomb

No … He will arrive in Damascus - on the white Eastern minaret of the Umayyad masjid -
Umayyad Mosque - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Masjid-e-Aqsa? My suspicion is that Aqsa will already have been destroyed and replaced with the Temple of Solomon at the time of Isa (AS)'s arrival … Israel is very near to doing that and they will only accept the Dajjal as Messiah when they see their temple rebuilt … so it is inevitable.

Re: Move to move Prophet's tomb

So psyah do u condemn it?
If they are worried about seligious sects and their worshippers, they can appoint police and get rid of them on a daily basis...easy. But whats their target?

Re: Move to move Prophet's tomb

They do have police that discourages any such acts. They go around telling people haram haram.

I mentioned in the other thread about the same topic that there was once a debate that the dome itself be removed because the dome was not deemed very Islamic. The caliph after long debate decided to retain the dome because it would divide the Muslim world. Sacrifics have been made before but maybe unity is not an important thing anymore.

Re: Move to move Prophet's tomb

I am going to dig into this before i reply. As far as the Graves are concerned, I think they should remain untouched. The decorations...well that can be discarded. It not a place of worship, but still is sacred enough for us to take a trip to KSA and pay our greetings.

Re: Move to move Prophet's tomb

Let us not all forget the last time two Moroccan Priests posing as Muslims tried to steal the Holy Prophet's (PBUH) Body from the Roza Mubarak, Rasul Allah PBUH came in a dream to the Governer in Egypt and showed him the faces of the two Grave Robbers. When the Governer investigated he found these two had dug a Tunnel and were close to the Roza Mubarak. they were exposed and admitted to their crime. and duely punished.

The same fate awaits those who try this again!

If the Saudi's are smart they will Move the Masjid from around the Roza Mubarak!

Re: Move to move Prophet’s tomb

Two of the ulema I follow on FB had the following to say about the story:

Re: Move to move Prophet's tomb

Peace Sind Sagar

Around the vicinity of the burial chamber is the Riyadh-ul-Jannah ... denoted by the different coloured pillars ... we can't move the masjid either ... all of it must stay ...

Re: Move to move Prophet's tomb

The Holy Prophet's Masjid is a place of worship and the burial chamber is an annexed part of it ... It is a haram the second holiest place for the Muslims.

Re: Move to move Prophet’s tomb

I shared this link with a colleague and got this reply:

This is totally false… The bogus article in ‘The Independant’ regarding the alleged plan to move the blessed grave of the Prophet (SAW) is another sad indication of how sensationalist media can be.

Firstly, this particular newspaper, and especially the journalist Mr. Jerome Taylor, seems to have an unnatural obsession for smearing the Saudis and their relationship with the Holy Sites. See this brief history:

2011- Mecca for the rich: Islam’s holiest site ‘turning into Vegas’ - Middle East - World - The Independent
2012- Medina: Saudis take a bulldozer to Islam’s history - Middle East - World - The Independent
2013- The photos Saudi Arabia doesn’t want seen
2014- Saudis risk new Muslim division with proposal to move Mohamed

Secondly, the alleged ‘plan’ turns out to be an academic paper submitted to a government committee. Anyone who is aware of the nature of these things realizes that the submission of a paper is in no way, fashion, or form approval of an actual plan by that committee!

Thirdly, the paper itself does not actually state that the blessed grave should be touched. No sane Muslim would ever suggest that. Rather, what it suggests is that the masjid itself should be replanned in the new construction so that the blessed grave would be outside of the new masjid boundaries. So, what the author suggested was to change the boundary of the masjid, not that of the grave.

Fourthly, this view is a minority view and has been soundly rejected by mainstream Salafi and all non-Salafi scholars. Historically, there has never been any serious opposition to the Umayyad inclusion of the blessed grave into the Prophet’s masjid (which occurred in 88 AH), and no major scholar of any madhhab has ever called for the Prophet’s (SAW) masjid boundaries to be redrawn.

Lastly, this is NOT a defence of Saudi construction policy around the two Harams: that topic requires an entire article, not just a FB post! There is much to criticize, and yes much to praise as well.

The purpose of this post was merely to point out how sensationalist the media continues to be, and how easily Muslims seem to want to demonize another group. And help is sought from Allah alone!

Edit: so its already shared above and I was impressed with my friend’s writing and research skills :rotfl:
