mouth wash and perfume

Re: mouth wash and perfume

Forgive me guys, should of emphasized the point of INTENTIONALLY inhaling the smell.

Thank Code Red

Re: mouth wash and perfume

If you put on perfume/cologne in the morning, is that considered "intentionally inhaling the smell". The reason I ask is that im not going around sniffing the perfume all day...but if I wear, obviously im gonna smell the scent..is that ok?

Re: mouth wash and perfume

Yes Afro-Sheen, it's okay.

Re: mouth wash and perfume

Dear Gamma, please recall my post from the Britney thread to first exercise common sense (To the mods, this tone is necessary here - our duty as members of the religion forum is to make people intelligent about their beliefs and not dumber by spoonfeeding).

What is it in wine that makes it of "great harm" as per the Quran? Is it presence the of Ethanol, or the intoxication that comes as a result of DRINKING it?

Are you intoxicated when you smell perfume? I.e. do you loose your senses temporarily and have slurred speech and loss of coordnation, or are not in control of yourself?

Al-Razi, Jabir bin Hayyan and al-kindi used to even experiment with alchohol to study its flammable and SANITIZING properties. And for surgery they used to give alchohol to intoxicate the patient so he/she does not suffer pain.

So please consider what you are doing to yourself by not putting on odour reducers.

The idea is to remain normal while observing abstenance. It is your training to grow in character AND BE A SHINING EXAMPLE TO OTHERS...

I have seen people loosing their temper because they are fasting... somehow they want to be treated differently than others. What a shining example...

Re: mouth wash and perfume

You seriously think that one should not mock the person who is mocking the principles of Islam. Have you seen his Brittney and Pets in Islam thread. If someone mocks my spritual faith and values, I have right to mock him. I dont need to run to a mod, crying mommy, mommy (sorry for the rudeness)

Mods can come and put a Note of advice in the middle of thread for other posters, but cannot delete a thread like this when it is started. He/she needs the thread to be reported as bad post.

The rules and policies should be same for liberal minded as well as for not so liberal minded. Dont you think

tariq bhai .. abb aap kaa future tabah ho gayaa hai GS par :omg:

Re: mouth wash and perfume

Tarik Khan- I understand your emotions :flower1:

Islam teaches us to address people politely and convince with them with wisdom and kindness.

You will not serve this religion any favour if you start reciprocating bad behaviour.

The holy quran :

Re: mouth wash and perfume

COde bhai, can you tell me if that is only when you are preaching about the religion or in day to day talk as well:)?

Re: mouth wash and perfume

the answer is undisputeable. You may come to the point, straight away :)

Re: mouth wash and perfume

I wanted to know your point of view. :)

but anyway, thanks :)

Re: mouth wash and perfume

Re: mouth wash and perfume

Yaraa, aap kee baat sahee hai

But i have a strong feeling that GD is doing sharaarat. Anwaar bhai did that (kindness) and all he replies to it so seriously that … . I think he is just playing game

Re: mouth wash and perfume

And to reply back with the best of conduct is a test for you brother. Islam teaches patience and to not assume someone guilty unless proven so.

Re: mouth wash and perfume

^^ Cant you just sense a fitna. Do you need proof of that (even according to Islamic teaching)

Re: mouth wash and perfume

Maybe I do, but if I mock that person back, I will be creating fitna myself as well. I'd rather answer his question with proper reason and evidence. Perhaps someone reading the answer and too afraid to ask the same question as a legitimate concern may take heed from it.

Re: mouth wash and perfume

tariq bhai jaan

I strongly believe that even if MODS are not capable of seeing the fitna and give benefit of doubt to the fitna-gar... the questions put forward to mock Islam can be answered in a way that may benefit others atleast, and hence, my reply :)

Re: mouth wash and perfume

Maybe both of you are right but is not Islam against giving benefit of doubt to the fitna-gar (and against getting indulge in polite reasoning with fitna gar)

After all, quran, instead of politely resaoning with jews, told the muslims to stop saying "Raa'enaa" and say "unzulnaa" instead. Dont you think what jews were doing was a form of fitnaa. They were mocking the word used by sahaba (in a respectful manner) and intead used it to disrespect Rasoolullah.

How this partcular situation is any different where a person is taking an islamic ruling and creating a mockery out of that

How this partcular situation is any different where a person is taking an islamic ruling and creating a mockery out of that<<

The best I could do was to raise my concern - gone unnoticed nonethelss, I am done with my job...

tariq bhai...

The best we can do in our capability as "member" was to provide the best possible answer to however ridiculous question that was....

The responsibilty of giving benefit of doubt or not lies on the shoulder of the person(s) "whose" forum this is - :)

PS: thanks for providing the parellel from the Quran about what's being accomplished by the poster...

Re: mouth wash and perfume

I disagree... Islam cannot be inconsistant with people according to my understanding. The very reason people choose to label others as "fitna-gar" is to find an easy way out and not asnwer tough questions (or show resolve in their belief/understanding).

And how are you supposed to have fair judgement unless you do not give the benefit of the doubt and analyze a presented case before declaring one thing or another? Perhaps I am a fitna-gar too by your standards then...
