i need to loose like 10-12 pounds…

i plan a diet everyday…but its not helping…
lunch time temptations at work are tooo hard to deal with
i just had a chicken cheese burger. :frowning:

Re: motivation..

i know how you feel when it comes to temptations, if you have a pic of yours when you were at the weight you want to be back at put that pic on the fridge, the kitchen cabinet(where the cheetos or cookies might be). It'll help you ward off the temptations every time you reach for the fridge door

since you gave in to your temptations for a chicken cheese burger, don't get yourself down b/c that might cause you to feel sad and you might end up eating some other guilty pleasure. get back on the horse as the saying goes and keep going with your diet plan and exercise daily.

don't even buy foods from the grocery store that would cause you to feel tempted

One problem that dieters face is cutting out food items that they enjoy. It takes a little extra self-discipline to avoid unhealthy snacks, but it is certainly achievable

A significant deterrent blocking the path to weight loss is temptation. People tend to eat sugary or fried foods just because they want to feel them on their taste buds, not because they are actually hungry or need to eat anything at all. It takes a little extra effort, but some simple tips and tricks can help ward off temptation and help you stick to your diet.

Buy Sugary and Fatty Food Items in Small Amounts
Keeping a family size tin of cookies in the pantry only makes it easier to give in to the temptation when it creeps up. It is a much better idea to go out, eat a small portion of what you want to eat, and come back without additional servings to stock up. Of course, buying the family size pack is more economical, but can you really put a price tag on your health?

Keep Fresh Fruit Washed and Ready to Eat in Plain Sight
If and when you do have the urge to eat something, and a healthy snack is in plain sight, you will often, if not always, be motivated to opt for the fresh berries or carrots. Keep a bowl of berries on the table where you can see it on your way to the cookie jar or the ice cream tub.

Shop for Groceries on a Full Stomach
You tend to have stronger temptations and food buying impulses when you are hungry. On a full stomach, the brownies don’t seem to be quite as tempting and it is easier to stick to the shopping list.
Fill up on Healthy Foods at Mealtimes
Eat your fill of whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Don’t skip meals. Eating your fill at lunch helps prevent impromptu and unhealthy snacking in the evening.

Allow Yourself to Give in to Temptation Every Once in a While
If you never allow yourself to eat something just because you want to eat it, the urge to eat just gets stronger and leads to gorging on dessert at the next available opportunity. Set rules that work for you, like eating chocolate only on weekends, and stick to them. Eating moderate portions of sugary snacks once a week doesn’t really hurt, and it keeps you happier and better motivated by circumventing feelings of deprivation.

Keep Yourself Occupied
Keeping the mind busy helps prevent emotional eating and eating just because you are bored and have little else to do.
