Basically asking students over here that how do they keep motivating themselves to constantly study through out the semester n through out the yr. Yes, I can understand gettin on your knees once in a while but constantly being on ur knees n don’t feel like getting up even though you know that its the bad timing n u gotta get up n get on with your studies but you just can’t.
How do you motivate yourself. Whats the striving force that keeps you going on n on n on?
I need some hard core motivation n kick in my brain to get up n start running..
p.s. non-students can reply as well from their past xperience.
Baap kay danday in lower classes.
For the Bachelors and Masters I was working for one of the ultimate degrees from one of the centers of excellence of Pakistan. Market value of that degree was best motivating factor for me.
well i just graduated this jan so i very well can relate with this...for me it was neva hard 2 stay motivated cuz ed for me is very imp and i cud neva even imagine goin careless abt the whole thing...yes there r days in every student's life when they feel they have just had it and cant do more...but its just that time when u realise that no nothin can come between u and yr goals and u wl rock thru yr studies...one major major factor is if u really like wat u r studyin...i have a frnd who is havin same problem....adjustin 2 the hectic schedule of studies but i m sure she is feelin it all the movie cuz apparently she doesnt have much interest in it...so i guess thats a problem with many students...they take up anything that catches their interest at the spark of the moment n decide w/o first gettin a good outline of the course n seeing if its really wat they want 2 study.
And ofcourse one should neva stress themselves with only studies studies n studies...if u r disciplined with yr time n give time 2 every thing includhin yr family, yr hobbies than u wont mind studying that extra bit. ANd ya pls believe me when its all over u wl miss all these uni years so much....its been like only a month for me and i have been missing my hectic schedule since rite after say max 1 week after i was done with my finals.....lol.
lol @ baap kay danday - yea I wish I had the same thing at this age.
Well I do enjoy what I am studyin infact it DEMANDS hell lot of my time and I know that as well. But for some reason this whole past week I have been lazy and not touchin books or tryin to understand anything. Its just not sinking in. I know very well that I need to study and every single second means alot right not but yet im not motivated enuff to actually get myself going.
Now, look at me instead of studyin I am whinnin online that how I am not motivated n so on
u know wat...u need a break..dun feel guilty abt spending this time on yr hobbies...cuz if u do than neither u wl be able 2 enjoy that time on holidays n since urnt studyin either so the time wl = wastage of life....hehe so just relax...n have a day off/nite off n when u sleep at nite just promise 2 yrself that 2morow is gonna be the day when u wl get back 2 the rite schedule...
Coming from a medical background, I can tell you there are definitely days when you just wanna kick back and take off like nothing. But eventually your laziness catches up to you. I get motivation when i go to hospitals and see the doctors and their lifestyles and I hope and pray that it will be me IA one day if I work and study hard enough. Nothing in life comes easy, especially studies. Your motivation should be your future, your life, your family to be in the future and all the things you want to be able to provide them once you get your education and find a decent job. Whatever field you decide on maybe you can speak to someone in it and get motivation from them. But rememebr laziness ALWAYS kicks in, especially if your a strong student like me. When I was sudying for my MCAT's and organic chemistry classes, they told us to always take a day off now and then or we would eventually give up because being human its impossible to kill yourself over books (or anything else for that matter ) 24/7. So just realx and take it easy, you will fall into place soon IA.
Most of my friends find their motivation at salary.com:Dwhich believe it or not helps once in a while.
EMM, I know it's easier said than done, but just focus on the end prize which is a rewarding career that you will love for the rest of your life and all those other things in life will come to you automatically when you're all settled.
im suffering frm the exact same thing..gt work in for fri and cant be bothered to do it. best thing that i think helps is setting urself small targets then havin short breaks. the targets sumtimes help to motivate.
Interesting ideas guys and thankyou for taking your time out to help this poor lass out.

Desigirl:** I am in medical school preparing n studying for step 1. I go to hospital once/twice a week and get to play a doctor mostly in the E.R but unfortunately that also not helping me. I go there and be like wa’eva u know. Its bad but I don’t know I dont have same courage n spirit as I had few months back.
Angel Eyes: My parents are like that as well especially bro n sis. They look upto me n even tell me straight off that I am there ideal n stuff but that too not helping me now. sigh
NamaaN: I am tryin to think towards the same direction but again not helping. Oh and happy birthday man!
Indopak: taking a break
Adre: I do study groups. We talk and discuss cases but we can’t do that all the time. The kind of studying we have to do is mostly done independently n thats when I lose track and end up getting lazy again.

Muniya:** short span? we wish It seems soo long n never ending journey. I know I have to get at one specific target and I even have the ladder infront of me but I am just too lazy and laid back to climb it.
Last but not least, I try to listen to Quran with translation and it usually motivates me enough to get things started. Hopefully it will kick in soon - sooner the better b/c don’t have enough time to waste.
Emm, my sister does this weird study groups where her and her friends are basically studying at their own houses but they study at the same time and call each other up to discuss notes.
I was just blown away by their study group, it was kinda neat. I would wake up at 3 am and find her on the phone discussing some thing with a friend and Im like dont you guys sleep
