each year we siblings get together and get her a big gift. Not sure what we will get her this year...but normally she will hint it :D I have asked my hubby about sending a gift over to pakistan for MIL but he says they don't celebrate it and not to worry about it :)

Same here - we made a whatsapp group and for the past 3 weeks us siblings have been planning a surprise lunch and gifts.
For the MIL I am being a good bahu and have already arranged for a gift to be given to her from all of us in Pak... and am just off to the post office to post the card now. Goody two-shoes, me.

Last year I sent my MIL a card+gift+flowers combo (same as my mum) and my MIL was so surprised and happy as they don’t celebrate these occasions. They don’t even celebrate birthdays of older ppl, while in my family we use to celebrate every one’s birthday and all the other occasions. We love our mother through out the year but you should see her on Mother’s day when she’d surrounded with tons of bouquets and gifts as we are masha Allah say 7 siblings
