Mother's Day

So, are you guys doing anything special for your mothers on this day?.

I still havent decided which sucks and i am blank rite now what diff to do :(.

Re: Mother's Day

for me every day is mother's day..

Re: Mother’s Day

In my family, we don’t really follow these special days. I love her, I call her everyday, I take stuff for her when I visit home, but if I did something special i.e. out of the ordinary for her on mother’s day, I think it will be an awkward situation :hehe: But I am glad many people do follow these occasions, really nice to see :k:

Re: Mother's Day

My mom lives in London and I am in America. They celebrated back in March (I think!) so it almost seems defunct to look like I forgot the British version..which I did!

I will probably have flowers delivered for her.

When my mother in law is around during Mothers Day, we usually take her out for a mothers day lunch and standard flower bouquet.

Looking forward to ideas for what you can do from far away for Mothers Day!

Re: Mother's Day

We have dinner together (again - I mean, we get together more often anyways) lol but we give her flowers.

That's about it!

This mother's day it seems a little more special - cause my kids are putting in extra thought for mom's day. They have started to "make" their own gifts for me!!! :) they are 6 and 7! (They have been making things before too but this time they are analyzing what mom means to them).

Right now - they are hiding behind the bed and whispering what they have written in the cards for me. Of course I am not allowed to hear it nor see the gifts until tomorrow. :)

Personally, I think it makes me emotional. I do not like mothers day. It makes me cry.

  • because look my kids have been talking yesterday saying mom Thank you for doing everything for us - like cooking, taking us to school, picking up for lunch ... and the list went on and on and on...and on...

and I did not even realize they were thinking of all these.

I always knew they were appreciative, but I had no idea they were thinking about all this consciously.

Re: Mother's Day

I took my mom out for lunch with my jaanu baby :). It was lots of fun so had a great time.

I love my mom :).

I bought her white lillies and an ipod (with all her favorite ghazals so she can spend 4 hours listening to them during dialysis)..

Re: Mother's Day

I hope you all had a great time too :) thanks for replying and sharing your feelings :).
