Exactly. I also noticed this with my cousins brought up in Karachi. They speak tooti phooti Sindhi and I just hate the idea because their Urdu is not as good. For me a real person is one whose conversation tells you wherefrom he / she is. Munh teRha karna and conscious attempts to degrade your mother tongue leads you away from your roots.

If I know good Urdu that is just because of my parents and grandparents who speak ba-muhawra Sindhi. Due to listening to this pure Sindhi, I got good knowledge of my mother tongue that helped me understand Punjabi, Hindko, Saraiki and Urdu too. You need to have strong base in your language, if you want to have command over other language.
