Im getting married soon IA. I wanted to surprise my mom with a shalwar Kameez to wear to my wedding. It will be in the late fall early winter. I live in the nyc area so anywhere in Brooklyn, queens, or online would be good. I just wanted to like surprise her as she really helped me greatly through everything. Also, if you guys can give pictures of shalwar kameez that would look decent on someone in age range of 46-55 that would be great. Everything I see is like way to inappropriate (super long shirts, dress like shalwar kameez, bright red). I asked a designer on facebook, but he just sent me like pics of outfits for people in there teens/20s
Oooh I had this issue when my sister got married, my mum wears really traditional outfits and we had to find something more appropriate for her cos she didn’t want to wear a kameez that was too long.
This ere’s a few good links on this forum that I found useful, have a look at them:
is your mom okay with wearing long shirts? My mom wore the long straight shirts with either the really losoe pajamas (ajaar i think) or chooridar/straight pant. She also wore a gharara to my mehendi... light weight and dark colour. My mom didn't want to wear the super loose shirts (A line etc)... so she always wore straight long shirts and either dark or light colours... nothing bright and bold.
I'm writing about this on my blog soon... waiting for a few pictures from my sister's wedding before I publish my post.
