Nargis, and Sunil played their roles very well…
an excelllent movie…apart from sholay…

Yes it was - First and Only Indian Movie until Lagan.
It's funny how nargis played the role of sunil dutt's mother where in actual life she is his wife.....i think they got married after this movie......

sukhilala was one of the all-time great characters in Indian cinema. Admittedly it’s a short list.

Yeah you are right. Even the kid who played Birju as a child was good. Considering the age of the film it was a real stand-out.
No comments on Raj Kumar's role?
