… has a very high rank, higher than the father. Howcome the kids still belong to the man and will be called by his name in this world and the hereafter?
Re: Mother in Islam
^ it is really considered a 'verbal abuse' if u call someone by his mother's name and not the father's name....
cuz it means that the person u called to (with referenece to his mother), his father is not known, and this is a hedious blame on the mother of the person....
Re: Mother in Islam
^^ makes sense to me
Re: Mother in Islam
Because lineage is past on from the man's side ?
Mother is Obedience, Father is Robe (whatever that is in english).
Re: Mother in Islam
I've never heard that one before? "Obedience/robe"
Re: Mother in Islam
Just one correction: Kids will be known by their mothers name in the hereafter, not by their fathers name.
Re: Mother in Islam
^ just a desi myth...
they shall be called by their fathers' names....
Re: Mother in Islam
I beg your pardon! And your source is?
Re: Mother in Islam
and what is your source????
the hadith brought forward in this regard is reported by a guy who has been classified as a hadith-rejector and a liar, and hence its not even classified as a dhaeef hadith (much lower)....
what they say is that only the mother knows the real father and hence everyone shall be called by their mother's name....
the calling shall be done by Allah and i think He knows better than anyone else who the real father is....
Re: Mother in Islam
^
No mater whether it is considered unreliable there is something to support my side of the story. What about your assertion that it will be fathers name? Now u r stating that it will be Allah's prerogative, so what is it?
Re: Mother in Islam
Allah Himself commands in the Quran to call people by their fathers' names....
and He Himself wud do otherwise????
since u r bringing forward something 'strange', u shud be looking for its proof, not me....
Re: Mother in Islam
Its something in the etiquittes of Islam. Since the empahsis is so much on a women.
Importance is given to mothers in islam, over fathers. And so you must have the obedience to the mother, but also be under the hukum of your father.
Re: Mother in Islam
Will appreciate the Quranic reference, thanks
Re: Mother in Islam
^ go look for yourself....
maybe u'll learn something in the process....
Re: Mother in Islam
Hmmmmm…first u quote the Quran knowing very well u r lying, then hide behind that stupid one liner. You do know what Allah says about the Mushrikeen who use Allah Ayaths for their personal agenda? If u do not then it will be better u educated yourself.
When Quranic text or Allah’s commands are quoted it is best that the exact reference is provided. If you fail to do so and it is proved furthermore that u have misquouted for your personal agenda then this matter needs the attention of the GS Directors as to how someone with such malicious nature can be elevated to the position of Moderater leave alone be allowed on religion section.
Terse one liners only prove your weakness and the fact u r wrong. Either u provide the exact reference Or…
Re: Mother in Islam
^ u cud have spent the same time that u spent for thinking and typing this useless comment to actually find the verse....
atleast give it a try, if u really cant find the verse then let me know, if i feel u tried and failed, i might actually put it here for u....
Re: Mother in Islam
Don't be silly fartguru. A moderator's job is to judge, chastise and issue fatwas. Not help, direct or moderate. Maybe if you kiss his ring he'll give you a hint.
Re: Mother in Islam
I thought in afterlife (on day of qiyamah especially), children will be called by their mother’s name?
Re: Mother in Islam
I've heard about people being called up by their mothers name on Qiyamat, dont know how true it is. But still, i dont think calling by your mothers name can be an insult. Girls generally do take on their mother's name instead.
Re: Mother in Islam
ack, i came back to this forum after getting the "holy" sheet beat out of me a while ago....
