i have this faint memory of a india-pakistan match when i was a kid. pakistan made an incredible score of around 315-320 (in those days) and india were chasing, it got so dark, but umpires still let play continue
indias tailenders were batting, kept missing and running, and moin khan kept missing…when balls went into the outfield, couldnt even see it…india won that game but it was very close and it seemed after pakistan posted that score, India would crumble

Yup I remember that match in Bangladesh. No one was expecting Pakistan to lose the game after posting a big total since the earlier two games between the 2 sides was quite low scoring.

The Sharjah Miandad six one, awesome match and the tension was unbelievable, was listening the commentary on radio and as Miandad hit the six the commentators voice got drowned in the noise and for a few seconds I was not sure what had happened. The tension was killing.

why weren’t you watching it live? Even we are watching the match live in Pakistan in 1986. We usually didn’t get to see live matches except for the ones in Pakistan.

'92 semi-final had everything. Both teams were in the game until the six by Moin Khan. When IK started getting smacked in last overs…I was like crap…here we go again, but Pakistan came back really well. Raja and Imran lifted the team and than it was all Miandad and Inzamam. I wasn’t sure that Inzi would do it, but man to see a youngster at that moment…who performed in that manner. You still get chills…moreover, the running between the wickets by Miandad…salim malik and akram wicket…the end was perfect…crowd was at its best.

'99 semi-final Aus vs SA

I remeber we cursed Malik when he got out after playing a stupid drive. It was probably his worst bad patch. I was watching the game with my family. It think the time was 11 or 12 in the noon and it was either a saturday or sunday. As soon as Malik got out the camera man showed a section of kiwi fans who were carring posters "YOU ARE GODS". Our defeat was certain however my mother who was constantly doing Tasbeeh said that they (crowd) are asking for trouble aur abb in kee shamat aaie gee. Such display posters are quite common but she didn’t like it at all :). Then Inzi came and just snatched the match away from Kiwis.

How come noone has mentioned the tense 1-wicket test win over Australia in 1994 (? Karachi) where the last pair (Inzi and Mushtaq) put on 58* to win the game?

GA I remember that game very well. I was @ NSK for the entire game. Watched the game seesawing when Australia took the lead, and when Wasim and Waqar instigated a mini collaspe of Aussie batting in the seconds innings and gave Pakistan a hope of winning the game. However it was the last wicket stand which was the most thrilling part of the game. Pakistan was actually lucky since inzi escaped a plumb LBW appeal of Waugh during the partnership
