who do you think are the most overated and pamperred paksitani cricketers and who do you think are underated
according to me the most pampered cricketer in the world is shahid afridi pakistan in most cases at the cost of the country have foolishly played this jack ass. another pampered fellow is shoaib akhtar both the men should be send to quarry to break stones
the most underatted crickter in pakistan i felt was asif mujtaba, basit ali and rashid latif till sometime back.
Rashid never got the credit he deserved.
He is a don keeper, now he is showing his age a little, but he has taken some outstanding catches, like when he caught Azharuddin in the 96 QF in Bangalore. He is a great sports personality.
I agree Shahid Afridi is the most overrated cricketer in the history of Pakistani cricket folowed by Mansoor Akhtar.
I dont think Basit was underrated, the guy's career came to a controversial end, but that's another story. He was very highly rated by everyone.
Yes..Afridi and Shoib are very overrated.
AMong underrated ,I thought Shoib Muhammad was also very underrated. He could have been great TEST player for pakistan.
There you go. I can’t help it. Another thread on Afridi
I don’t think he’s overrated but yeah I do agree that he has thrown away his wicket by playing foolish strokes. IMO, Afridi needs to be in full consideration of a Coach i.e Javed Miandad because people have said all long that Afridi ain’t gonna learned anything but when you see his career stats under Miandad’s Coaching, his record speaks for itself. Now, don’t say those 22 half centuries were flukes as well. ![]()
Regarding Shoaib Akhtar, he has killed himself. Whenever he got a chance, he blew it with his attitude.
IMO, Asif Mujtaba would be an underrated Cricketer. Back in the early 90s, I was young to understand what’s going on with the Pakistan Cricket. I do remember Mujtaba’s SIXER on the last ball of the innings, which tied the match between Pakistan and Australia. I think it was Steve Waugh who bowled full toss and BANG, the ball gone into the crowd!
So you are agreeing that Afridi is overrated, because you are yourself saying that he throws his wicket away.
Haha Ehsan bhai. And you do agree with 22 half centuries(include 2 centuries as well) that weren't flukes. :D

I agree but the fact is that he is still overrated. He has the potential to play better and till he lives upto his potential he will be overrated. It is no good scoring one century followed by 20 innings of 5 runs each and getting out in the first 3 overs. If he has the potential of scoring a century than he should be more consistent, othewise he will remain an overated player in my book anyway.
Yes Ehsan bhai.. Afridi has got potential. He's probably the Best Striker(over 100) rightnow in Pakistan Cricket but IMO, he can't live upto and use his energy in the right way. He's not the player who can remain consistent in his form without Coach help. I think Javed Miandad is the only choice who can guide him, teach him his weakness. When Miandad wasn't around, Afrid collasped.
I think people like Afridi mostly because of his SIXERS. I read his interview and he said he will be back in side on the basis of merit, otherwise not. I took that as he knows what he has gone wrong with him and his career. Rightnow, he's playing Cricket in the Netherlands Cricket Academy.

Yes I read that interview as well, he said he wants to come back to the team on sheer merit. He said he is not worried about statments by Aamir Sohial such as "Afridi should forget about playing for Pakistan for at least a year."
Both Shoaib and Afridi are very over rated but they are also huge under achievers.
Both have the talent to be the best, with proper guidance, they can be.
shoaib n afridi r over-rated no more . everyone now knows wat they're worthed...
Shoaib isn't over-rated or under-rated. Everyone pretty much knows he has an attitude problem and doesn't apply himself properly. At the same time he can be a devastating bowler on song who can rip sides apart so he keeps getting picked - although at least now with Javed in charge he might have to prove his fitness first.
Afridi is definitely over-rated. Limited shots and a careless slogger. If the opposition didn't play their fast bowlers he might be worth considering as he could then clobber the medium pacers and spinners all over the park. Otherwise a waste of time.
i think these topics have been discussed b4...so whats the point of going thru them again?????
i dont think it matters!!
he's a total babe, totally gorgeous!!!!
i love afridi!!!
shibi must be kicked out b4 next world cup :)

As you asgree he has the potential and so does Shoaib & Mansoor Akhtar then these players are not over rated they are just under achievers. Afridi and Mansoor Akhtar are big under achievers but as far as Shoaib is concenred I think he might not have played fully to his potential but he is not that big of an under achiever. He has very good average and strike rate. It could have been a lot better if he uses his head a little often but he still is one of the most devastating bowlers in world cricket today.
Moin Khan is also under-rated.He is no less than anyother in the world.I think Yousaf Youhana is the one who is very over-rated.
Coming back to the topic of the thread, I think Aaqib Javed is very under-rated. He is one of the most technically correct bowlers, and its a shame that Pak team does not play him... at a time when he can still do wonders and provide guidance to upcoming bowlers like Sami.
