Most Inspired by

Which piece of Art in the history you feel most inspired by.

What do you like most about it

Re: Most Inspired by

I always find myself in another world after looking at Renaissance period work.. for their beautiful rendering and realistic quality..
I really like the intricacies of Sistine Chapel ..

Nothing much to do with nude men:P

David by Michelangelo stone carving.. the eternal gaze on this youthful greek hero.. a sign of victory,

i wonder how much patience they had to carve out something so perfect out of a slab of stone..

so fluid and glassy..

Erased de Kooning

Re: Most Inspired by

so whats the story behind the erased one.. pardon my naiveness looks intriguing

Re: Most Inspired by

simple description is: he made something and then erase it.

we use mark making (paints-pencils-other art materials) to prove our presence, and to authenticate it we sign it at the bottom.

but he used eraser to highlight his presence, hence idea of trace and signature. :).

p.s. if you go deeper it actually is very interconnected with our lives. :)

Re: Most Inspired by

being there by not being there kind of a thing..
