Most effective

So what’s most effective type of cardio when it comes to weight loss, becoming fit and stronger?

Going steady and consistent or interval training (going at low-medium-high speeds)?

What do you prefer to do?

Re: Most effective

Any cardio is good cardio, and low impact cardio is the safest. Running/sprinting etc is intense training and gives faster results, but can be damaging to your knees, ankles etc. Go for a low impact exercise, like a stationary bike or an elliptical trainer. As for going steady and consistent or interval training, always mix things up and keep surprising your body. When we put our body through an activity that requires additional effort, our body tends to adapt to the new routine, and after a while it will not be as effective. Start with a steady consistent pace, go on until you feel you have built good stamina and form, and then start to shuffle the routine around a bit, you will feel new muscles coming into action and that is how you know you are hitting it where you should.

For weight loss there is a general rule, if you are burning more calories than you are consuming, you will lose weight.

Best to mix it up.

Go with High Interval 3 times a week, slow twice etc.
