MOST EFFECTIVE ACNE TREATMENT

Re: MOST EFFECTIVE ACNE TREATMENT

COCO is right, you need to see a doctor for sure so he/she can tell if its just acne or something else.

Sunscreen is important for acne...doesnt sound like it but it is.

Change your pillow case every other day.

Increase water intake.

Increase your fruit and veggie intake. Especially apples.

Take multivitamins too.

These are natural things you can do to help BUT what you should do first thing is go and see a dermatologist ASAP.

  • Use a gentle cleanser

  • Try to avoid make-up.

  • Change your pillow-case often.

  • Keep your hands away from your face!

  • Proactive is a SHAM... so is Accutane. They don't work as well/effectively as claimed. Accutane may clear your acne initially, but the effect isn't long-lasting.

  • Use Tea Tree oil: I do break out every now and then, and lately I have been using TT oil and have noticed the difference it's made to my skin (Thank you GINA!).

  • Cleanse, exfoliate (3 times a week), tone, and moisturize.

  • Use sunscreen lotion.

  • Clindamycin worked for me... you might want to look into it?

  • Drink plenty of water.

  • Eat healthy.

  • Lower your stree level.

Go through the "Glowing Brides" thread... there are quite a few things that Gina has recommended. I don't know, perhaps some of them might turn out to be the right "remedy" for you?

U're welcome afsoon! Follow all the basic things written by PSQ and Afsoon.. just don't self-medicate.. go to a proper derm and get u're skin analysis done.

Re: MOST EFFECTIVE ACNE TREATMENT

wats clindamycin?
n where can i get tea tree oil in karachi?

^ The Body Shop..

Another thing that i've noticed thru PM's is that many people are just using too many things on their faces! PLEASE don't follow whatever someone tells u.. get a skin analysis done.. and PLEASE don't combine drugs/treatments!

actually im too lazy to do most of the stuff, after reading ur posts i've started cleansing regularly...

Noxzema Pads!!!(salyciclic acid)

These have worked wonders for me. I hardly get a pimple now, excpet in times of stress right before a test and I don't wash my face like I should before I got to bed.IT even erases the previous pimple marks!!!!

Your face can get a little dry, but then you should only use it once a day or every other day!!!

But I regularly wash my face with clean & clear regular face wash, every day too!

I think the KEY IS TO KEEP you face clean!! I used to run outside a lot (ground running), amd I would get pimples because of the dirt and stuff, so now i run in an inside enviroment and wash my face as soon as I get home! It's really important to keep you face clean!

Re: MOST EFFECTIVE ACNE TREATMENT

And one more thing, My SIL had some serious acne problems as a young teenager, and then she started using Accutane, and now she NEVER gets a pimple!! Her face looks like a baby's face. She did say the treatment was really intense, but looking at her, I think it was worth it--plus it's a permanet treatment meaning you don't do it forever, just a certain period of time.

But I think you have to your acne really serious to use this, because I asked my own doctor about it, and he laughed at my face-- he told me to go home and be grateful.....(ouch...)

me too,i never used to get acne but since last year i get occasional breakouts :(

Re: MOST EFFECTIVE ACNE TREATMENT

i had my acny going worse last month but i controlled it and all i have now is some scars:mad:
i hope they go away soon
i had really oily skin and no products suit my skin type that easily.I had to to figure out ways that can help

oh and try using olive oil to ur skin .i used home made herbal masks .they worked on me when everything else failed:rolleyes:

Re: MOST EFFECTIVE ACNE TREATMENT

The only effective long term treatment is a course of anti biotic. My friend did it for 3 months and her skin cleared up. Previously she had used all sorts of over the counter stuff, including FRAUD pro activ.
ofcourse another option is face transplant:p

It’s usually people with oily skin that are prone to acne.. olive oil will make matter worse! They shud use water-based products..even moisturisers.
