**true but i never had this heard about this controversy because, as i mentioned in one of my other post in an other thread, i was living in a house in Aligarh who belonged to an ex-police officer who had married the widow of Sultana Daku for her vast wealth. He built an entire neighbourhood called Ameer NishaaN in AligaRh.

Yes Haroon u Rashid is quite controversial. On one side his period is regarded as best for military conquests and on the other side his pompous way of life and not listening to positive criticism lead to start of destruction of Abbasid caliphate. Abbasid got caliphate by claiming that they are from the family of the Prophet (SAW) and will rule according to the Sharia rules as against their predecessors Ummayads, but after getting powers they did not prove to be different from Ummayads and breached the shariya laws openely.
Harron-u- Rashid, his queen Zubaida are also one of the famous fictitious characters mentioned in many of the tales from Alif Laila written during his period.

Yes agreed to all these points.. but the way he got power (killing his brothers and sending Shahjahan to prison) can't be considered as according to Shari'a.

But why? The old men after loosing all his sons (except Aurangzeb himself) was not much problematic for the new king IMO. Can we justify the acts of Aurangzeb for obtaining power?
