They have become Maxim (Zarb al Misl) for disloyalty in subcontinent. Allama Iqbal had written poetry on these, “Mir Jafar o bengal Mir sadiq o deccan nange deen, nange adam, nange watan” which mean Mir Jafar of Bengal and Mir Sadiq of Deccan are disgrace to the faith, disgrace to humanity, disgrace to the nation.
Someone told me recently that Pakistan’s first president Iskandar Mirza was descendent of Mir Jafar and Iskandar Mirza’s son probably had written a book to prove that Mir Jafar was not a traitor.
