Most Boring cricketers in present world cricket

Right now Cricket world is fortunate to have players like Shoaib Akhter, Shahid Afrdi, Adam Gilchrist,Jonty Rhodes..Who are keeping this game exciting.. ..But there are also few very boring players ..Like

Rahul Dravid: like Sunil Gavasker, Sanjay Manjreker..And many Indian Batsmen.. Dravid is one the most annoying batsman—Saab Ku Khawar karta hai!!
Marvan Atapattu: Chewing gum guy…I think he dips his shoes in German glue before stepping in for bat
Wajahat Ullah Wasti: I don’t know why we kept him..When we had players like Imran Nazir
Bevan: He may be the best one day player..But he is soo sticky!!

Bowlers:

Sanath Jayasuriya: I hate his negative bowling!!
Glenn McGrath: Yeh aik Lakeer Ka faker bowler hai..He can bowl 60 bowl at same annoying line—he may be great bowler but not exciting
All Indian Bowlers except Srinath and Kumble:

Well thats what you have to do sometimes to make your team win.

Dravid is boring but he has won more matches for his country than the Indian god.

I do agree with you though

Dravid boring?! :eek

What r you smoking mate! So he doesnt blitz runs at a Lara-esque 70~ per 100 balls faced, but he is so technically correct and wristy that to a knowledgable cricket fan and analyst watching him bat is a joy! He's a marvellous player, sparkling timer and placer of the ball and his powers of concentration are admirable. I'm assuming from your post that you like "instant fats paced" cricket ala ODI's and neglect the worth of the true test arena.

The most boring player in world cricket would be someone like Andy Flower-who is very good-but is slows WITHOUT providing the artistry of someone like Dravid to conpensate for that.

well well well. we have someone who has taken the match winners from the teams and branded them as boring players.
questioning Gavaskar??
Bevan is the best one-day batsman around.
McGrath bowls one of the most kutti(nagging) line&length in todays games.

different players have different styles, and they play differently in different circumstances.
Shahid Afridi may be one of the most exciting players for you. But how many games has he won for his team??

agreed.

but you can’t brand someone who uses the reverse-sweep to perfection(andy flower) a boring player. again he is a match-winning player for zimbabwe.

to me this is a useless arguement. commenting on player’s styles and branding them as boring is rubbish. all the players that represent their country are the best 11 in that country. how can you brand them as boring??

Flower is a very good bat, but being able to sweep well is hardly enough to brand him as "exciting". He is boring, very gusty and can craft a gem of a knock but I'd not sit and watch him bat! A similar situation to Steve Waugh-one of the all time greats, but hey he's not quite as exciting and breathtaking with the bat as his twin Junior is!

You do get boring players, Chanderpaul is the prime example-he is tedious and slow and a accumulator of runs rather then a free-spirited WI tradiotionalist batsma. No one is denying the skills of any international (bar a few Indians pacers!)-but they vary in entertainent value from the absolute A* viewers faves like Shoaib, Brett Lee and Lara to the 2hey I'll just check the scores on text" guys like C'Paul, Flower and Mathew sinclair!

Athers was a different issue-but his is a rare exception of someone who is tedios, slow and limited, but still great to watch.

The Game Responds:

*That was one of the most ill-written post in the sports forum. Have you ever heard of the word "anchor of the team" before(highly unlikely since it seems you have only been watching cricket for the past few months)? All the players you mentioned are supposed to play that anchor role for their batting line-ups; all other batsmen tend to play their innings around these players. Rahul Dravid and Atapattu are actually two of the most technically sound batsmen in the world today, for God's sake.

These batsmen are supposed to be boring(only to newbie shmucks like you, ofcourse). Go watch some cricket and then start opening threads. People, That Is All.*

Do you see what The People's ARTIST is painting here?

I would vouch for Shoiab Mohammad, son of Hanif Mohammad.

Bhai Khel…If your name is “The Game” (I am sure u are not as dumb as wrestler triple X-the game)…you should not start considering yourself Socrates of Cricket…You are right I don’t watch cricket for having coaching lessons .. frankly I don’t have time and money (like you..who I guess have wasted all his life in observing the exquisite techniques of Dravid and Atapatu).--- I just can’t watch boring matches.. I would prefer to watch 10 overs by Shoaib and odd 70 by Gilchrist –instead of wasting my whole day watching Dravid coming in line of ball and stopping it!!
You have your own taste… I prefer trill and excitement…

As for anchoring the team….you should take example of Inzy, Yuhana and Steve Waugh….i believe in anchoring and rebuilding the innings w/proper aggression—not sticking at the wicket !!
I read a recent interview of Dravid—he told the reporter that he enjoy annoying bowler w/ his sticky batting style…Now what kinna sick mind he is?
Correct technique Ka Achaar Dalna hai jub your team is losing

Dravid's style of anchoring is not to the like of all fans as although classy and correct, he lacks the constant flair of the Inzi's and lara's and even lacks the guts of other "slow" bats like Stephen Waugh. A batsman who basis his game ofn attrition like Dravid is a beaut to have in the team-how often do sides find themselves facing the defeat and thus requiring to bat for time to save the game. In such situations its preferable to have a Dravid or Atherton then a Inzi or sachin, who whilst glamourous are unlikely to stick it out.

Cricket is a game of such variety and diversity that each style is valid as the next and no one is "a waste" so to speak.

HI Jerablade

I was really upset (Dravid is one of my fav batsman) when i first read this article a few days back .... Now i want to ask u one question after watching pakistani batsmans failure, what d u feel.

dear Jerablade, cricket is not all about fours and sixes ... but its also about singles ... and the equally important thing staying at crease and building partenerships ..... PLAYING FOR TEAM and not just to entertain ppl.

do u really follow this game of cricket ..... do u really know anything about SUNIL GAVASKAR ...

Well said Maihu_don, these guys maybe extremely boring to watch but they are the real match winners, not flashy Tendulkar, Afridi, Imran Nazir, who may look talented but are big chokers on crutial situations.
If you look at the current middle order, there isn't one batsman who can go out there and stay their for more than 3 or 4 hours, let alone scoring triple figures.
With the exception of Youhana, I don't think Pakistan has a solid batsman.

i really dont see the big deal behind afridi and i dont even think he is gud at his game.
agree with umair316 Youhana is a gud batsman.
but the person that i find most xciting is andy caddick, his run-up is out of this world, a real gud laugh too watch.

players like DRAVID, YOUHANNA, INZI might be boring but they are what we call batsmen who can stay on the wicket....on the other hand...there are players like Ricky Ponting and Gilchrist who stya on the wicket and provide somethin to watch as well....

Most boring batsman in international cricket is jacques Kallis without doubt
