So at my wedding, my uncle who is also a professional photographer, was taking our pics. So while he was making groups, one guest started doing badtameezi with him like “arey, humari foto pehlay lo” and started talking with him very disrespectfully which was so embarrasing, so finally hubby told him to watch out because that’s his begum’s uncle… and even if he wasn’t, you don’t just treat someone that way, eh? So the guy was so shocked and ended up apologizing for the longest time and my uncle just laughed it off!

That reminds me of desi people in the food line at weddings.. 'pehle main pehle main'.. I guess pictures aren't all that different.

Ok i dont know where to say this :bummer: but WHY do videographers always take huuuuge closeups of ppl when they’re eating? I mean nobody looks good hwen they’re starved and eating (which at a desi wedding is pretty typical since they serve so late). I dont even wanna think abt how it looks when the ppl are watching the video later on :rolleyes:

Talking about food lines at desi wedding, I was at a very nice upscale wedding last Thanksgiving. Some aunty was standing behind me, and line was very packed, and she kept putting her head over my shoulder to see what was being served, and in that process she kept touching my butt!! Not once, not twice, but like 4 times. The entire time I had to stand so erect, trying to avoid her. :grumpy:

totally but im glad in our case with those aunties it worked out GREAT :smiley: my mil was also complaining that her food was ‘stolen’ :omg: we saw what happened with that too. poor her, she sat down to eat, turned around to talk to some guest and the waitress picked her plate up and walked away probably thinking she was done. you can see my mil turning around and going uhhhh, what?! the unedited version our videographer gave us has it all.

the funniest thing to me is watching the videos made by the really funny, cheap videographers in Pakistan…lol at one wedding in the family, they kept putting pictures of a guy and girl cousin together cause they saw them talking. They froze the pictures, had hearts coming out of it and everything :smack:

Oh goodness the humorous events at my wedding are endless but the most memorable one was at our mehendi. What was supposed to be a guest list of only 110 people turned out to be unfortunately 200. Anyway, due to the overcrowding and what not, we had to order more trays of food and more tables. Thank god the hall was big enough to accommodate all the annoying, uninvited guests. Well there was this one aunty from our area who went for her THIRD round of food and was putting some ras malai onto her plate when her bracelet dropped into the tray! She decides not to say anything. Instead she puts her plate down, holds up the line of people waiting behind her, and starts digging for her bracelet in the tray, up and down and all over...with her BARE hands. It was such an embarrassment that the hotel staff had to escort her away and finally remove the tray of ras malai.

Funny thing is, it was all caught on camera and anytime we show it to a family or friend they watch that part over at least 5 times hahahaha good times

haha the food lines are the saddest at any desi function.. at a recent wedding.. my mil had after an hour of standing in line finally been able to get a single portion of roti onto her plate .. was about to put some salan and some other aunty just took it off her plate and gave my mil a smile... my mil and i were sooooo disappointed at how bhookay our qaum is and didnt eat anything at that wedding... tsk tsk ...

My brothers wedding was just filled with amusing incidents, firstly my brother spilling half of the doodh palai milk on my bhabi and then drinking it all in one gulp without offering any. Secondly my bhabis family being EXTREMELY late to the walima and about 10 mins prior to their entrance seeing my mum throw a complete hissy fit because of it. The video/photographer guy having a blatent crush on one of my cousins and just following her around the hall...my uncle actually had to go up to him and shout at him to stop. and the last, and probably the funiest, on the walima video, as my bro and bhabi walked out of the hall, just in the bottom of the screen seeing two little kids just run into each other, the looks on their faces before they burst out crying were just priceless! funniest thing in the worrrrld!
